There are a number of things on the market but cats are not supposed to like oranges or pepper so try them.
To be honest it is very very difficult.
I had a friend who sat with a power water pistol and a few cans of lager during the summer months and used to shoot the cats with the water. (as opposed to getting them drunk on the lager) They stopped coming into the garden as they knew what would happen to them
We used to have a lot of birds in our garden but our two cats have put paid to that. They even took on, and beat, a seagull. Messy.
We all evolve - get on with it

Just seen a similar thread on another forum and rubber snakes were recommended, I suppose you just dot them about.

Can you tactfully ask the neighbours to put collars with bells on the cats? The sound of the bell warns the birds of approaching cats.

The problem is that since last winter both our neighbours now own cats, and they don't like each other! They've taken to scrapping in our garden

I thought you meant that your neighbours didn't like each other and would scrap in your garden when I first read it!!! :rotfl:

There was a discussion on my local radio station about this very subject and this website was recommended:

The silent roar pellets are supposed to smell like lion's poop and so will put the cats off!

i'd go with the water pistol method , our cat used to pester my kids rabbits , it would sit in front of the cage licking it's lips , after a few squirts it soon got the message and ignored them

Didnt it see you coming and just run off? I once rigged up a small plastic bucket which I placed on the shed roof just by the spot where a cat would sit and stare at our pet rabbit. I ran a piece of string from the bucket along to my kitchen window and when I saw the cat I pulled the string so that the water would land on the cat and the clatter of the bucket frightened it too. However, it started to sit in the same spot and at the same time keep an eye on the kitchen window. As soon as it saw me appear it would disappear quick!

We're ok now because we have four dogs who will go mad if anything appears in our garden - not that they would ever catch anything! :D

Are there any OS ways of stopping a cat from weeing. We have a tom cat in the street who likes to wee on our front door and it stinks:eek: Anyone know of a way to discourage this? Appologies if it has been asked before but I couldn't find anything when I did a search. Thanks.
