What would stop cats using the garden as a toilet?

Extra strong chilli powder, but you have to re-sprinkle if it rains. Cat does its business, goes to have a wash, and... MEEEOWWW never again!
Why not cat poo but lion poo is ok? well cats end products carry nasty bugs and can make you blind. (toxicara and other nasties)
The little pellet guns also give them a fright, you know the plastic balls you get in cheapo shops. One of those flying past their ear seems to keep them away for a while.Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

What can I sprinkle round the garden to stop cats from coming in the garden only my predicament for a week is that:
I'm baby rabbit sitting (5:eek: of them) and worried that cats might try and 'get them.' There's one particularly cheeky cat that I found sat on the worktop in the kitchen    the other day when I left the back door open to let some fresh air in. I'm an animal lover but not where this cat's concerned.
Want to be able to give the kiddiwinks 5 rabbits back when they get back from their holiday. Help!0 -

Good luck with the rabbits.

Thanks Pink Winged, I'll use some Olbas Oil in one corner, orange peel in another, citrus spray in another and buy a large water blaster tomorrow to give them a good soaking if they still try to get their paws on my rabbits.0 -

The plastic bottle sounds odd but I'll give it a go, thanks Snap.:T0 -
The cats never worry my rabbit they just look at each other but then my rabbit is totally stoopid so yours may be differant. He didn't even get phased when a hawk crashed in to the window, he just sat and looked at that too.Nothing to see here, move along.0

It you can get your hands on a curry plant this should work, my cat hated it when we moved in so I had to get rid of it.
A water spray is another good idea as it will just scary the cat and not harm it.

Thanks to everyone for this thread and links to other threads.
Our crazy downstairs lady leaves cat food out by her door, (which is right next to ours) so all the cat territories around our house are skewed. Consequentley, our nice newly gravelled garden is covered in cat poo.
I have to say that I do love cats, but this is getting ridiculous! Also, the smell of the cat food when the sun gets on it makes me want to gag and the bluebottle swarm that tries to invade our house everytime we open the door isn't very fun too. I wouldn't mind if she just left dry cat food out but it's the meaty stuff that makes me want to throw up.
Anyhoo, I shall be Filling and putting out all the empty bottles I can find, cutting up bags to make whooshy noises and eating oranges. I would put lavender plants down, but I can't stand the stuff either!Nemmer Nossage :rotfl: :j

I always smile when I see orange peel suggested. My cat Sally licks my fingers after I've peeled an orange!
