But those with time, nouse, internet skills, etc will benefit right across all money saving opportunities.
The playing ain't level and never will be.
Those with nouse won't get taken in by conmen coming knocking at the door. Does that mean we should sit back and not stop conmen knocking at people's doors?0 -

Too true! In fact, it already states in the table of charges "As a special offer to Visa Electron card holders, Ryanair, for a limited period only, will not apply a Debit Card charge". How much longer would the limited period last if everyone used Electron, I wonder?0 -

Did I say it was right?
Don't understand the conmen analogy, we are talking money saving nouse, not minimising crime.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Just looked at flights with BMI Baby - as well as wanting to charge for inflight meal, baggage, fuel surcharges, etc - they want £20 if you want to sit together !!! I am not a good flyer but I'm not paying £20 to sit next to my husband when we may just end up sitting together anyway. What will they do because we haven't paid it - send us either end of the plane?
What else will they charge for ?0 -

If you get to the airport to check in and just ask if theres two seats next to each other available, they will. BMI Baby seemingly rely on people who want a seat right next to the doors to pay a surcharge for guaranteeing those seats upon booking.
I love how all the people who don't manage to get £1 flights are calling Michael O'Leary all the names under the sun! Again if you follow the rules you get a flight for £1 or whatever the promotion is at the time. If he read this thread now he'd be loving all the publicity he gets. If theres one person that hates the rules...there'll be another five who are willing to play by them and book getting a cheap flight and carry on using Ryanair.
Rather than slagging every airline who has additional charges everyone should work together to produce a guide available on MSE if not it's own seperate web address to take advantage of cheap flights with them. I know one day it'll come crashing down and another rule will come in, but until then everyone should stop complaining and take advantage of the offers available.0 -
It's thanks to those who don't bother using Ryanair properly who pay high fares and enable people like me to enjoy cheap flights! Why rock the boat? If Ryanair were not able to claim that credit card charges were an extra, then this nice little money saver would be lost to everyone..0

The ACTUAL price should be advertised -it is deceptive to show otherwise and I can't understand those people who say otherwise. It doesn't end at check in I bough a tiny bottle of wine for a partner on board a Ryanair flight, only had sterling and the Steward refused to convert into Euro's ie 6 Euros = £6 -I no I should have said 'no' but heck we love a moan!!!0

The only reason you are benefitting at the moment is that you are able to get out of these charges where others aren't (due to time, nouse, internet skills, etc).
No, I have not. The post that I was responding to suggesting raising the price for everyone. Electron cards are available to everyone, even those with a poor credit rating. If Ryanair do choose to increase the price then I will have to accept that, but for the time being, I am not willing to subsidise those that choose to pay by alternative means.Gone ... or have I?0 -
Let's put it this way: If you buy something from a retailer at Quidco, you get 7% cashback.
Would you prefer that Quidco was abolished and everyone got a 3.5% discount instead? Sure, some people would lose out but the vast majority (who don't use Quidco) would get a better deal.0 -
:pI used to fly with Ryanair to Sweden regularly and liked them but have now been totally put off by all their different charges and now prefer to fly with the regular airlines like BA or SAS and think that Ryanair is going to lose a lot of business by their attitude. When you take all their extra charges and travelling to Stansted we save by getting to Heathrow or Gatwick, I just don't like their lack of openness in trying to hide their charges and in the end they will lose out. I know a lot of people who feel the same.0
