Saw Nicorette Chewing Gum 24 pcs for £1 on Saturday at Poundland in Bradford. Didn't get the mg of nicotine or the flavour I'm afraid :( but I'm sure this is much cheaper than the price in Boots etc.

My sister and her hubby both did the Allen Carr Easyway clinic in London, they paid just over £200 each :o

This seemed excessive to me but the results are great, theyve both gone from being heavy smokers to not touching a cig in over 2 years!

Allen Carr quotes something like a 92% success rate and they offer a money back guarantee if you do the course and still smoke.

I really should do the course myself!

  • Hi,

I have to say I used that Alan Carr book and I have to say that it certainly helps to get you into the frame of mind to stop smoking. I was planning to stop using that method but events overtook me and I went had to go through spinal surgery for the 2nd time. 1st time round I started smoking again but this time (6mth ago) I came out of hospital AND I managed to not go back to it and a lot of that was down to the mind set that the book helped put me in.

I have to say I was an honest smoker who did enjoy a cig at certain times of the day, and I knew the health risks, the costs etc But I really do have to say that I couldn't believe the amount of money left in my bank at the end of the month. Normally as pay day draws nearer the funds start to get a bit tight and you check the car, the sofa for a few extra pennies to buy that last packet of cigs to last until payday. But not now I can hnestly say that I have over £200 spare...... So if thta is not an incentive to help stop I dunno what is....

(It was spare until i treated myself to a motorbike (which I have never done before so it's a new experience and I LOE it) It is my reward to myself for giving up, every time I get a little craving I tell myself that my bike is my reward and if I want to start smoking again then the bike has to go. I find that to be a very powerful message as I would never have bought a bike if I hadent stopped smoking and I can't afford to smoke and run a bike......)

Don't want to preach but hope that helps someone ....... Give it a try you have nothing to lose...........

  • I stopped about 2 years and 3 months ago when I moved house cold turkey after several failed attempts.

The way I did it? I moved house and decided I wanted the new house to smell all nice and fresh, and yep it certainly worked!

Hi, I have just done Allan Carr's cd rom, and as of 5 minutes ago i'm a non smoker! Does anyone know of an online calculator thingy, that will keep a running total of how much I would have spent and how long i've not smoked?
  • Paul Mckennas new book is available now on Amazon. Worth a try if his diet book is anything to go by.
