That's a brilliant idea! Wow.... I almost wish I smoked so that I could give up and have all that cash

Just one teeny thing... could you resize your picture as it's making the screen all wonkey
Just run, run and keep on running!0 -

Glad this ones still going. Not long after this thread started I had a serious attempt at quitting. I managed 3 weeks which is pretty damn good for me. I was kicking myself after starting again

Nm since then Ive had about 15 more attempts ranging from a day to a week. Next time I hit three months - This time hopefully, I wont be so stupid as to start again even if it means I have to quit drinking. I love a drink but at least it will be damn cheap lol.
Im on day 1 have got silkquit and an army of info again including a huge list that I made detailing the pros and cons of giving up smoking to me personally.
Once more into the breach dear friends!

you CAN do it, Udston. I have/had smoked for nearly 30 years (I shudder when I remind myself of that). I am now on day 9 of not smoking. I used a combination of Allen Carr's and Neil Casey's books and all is going well so far. They may not work for everyone but are definitely worth a go (for the price of three packets of cigs, you have very little to lose and loads to gain).
What method do you intend to use?:dance:There's a real buzz about the neighbourhood :dance:0 -
The very best of luck to you Udston. I smoked 20 - 25 a day for 40 years and tried to give up several times managing a creditable 4 1/2 months on one occasion.udston wrote:I am going to once again try to stop smoking, need support please, I have smoked for 40 years.
This time, I wasn't planning to give up but I happened to be walking past an Acupuncturist's premises and saw a sign advertising anti-smoking treatments for £25 so I thought, why not?
I had 3 treatments (I'm sure 2 would have been sufficient) and honestly haven't fancied a smoke since.

Think I need to bump this - cos I need help!!
I gave up the fags three weeks ago. Made up with myself- but still craving.
I'm on Niquitin 4mg loz's.
Keep cleaning the house - not one of my favourite things to do ! - but the house smells better.
Bought lots of smelly candles, plug in Ambi Pure (cheap in Home Bargains)
Smokers - you know when you clean windows and the cloth wipes the brown off the glass - yuck ! Mine are just 'dusty' now.
Got to keep telling myself I'm doing OK - but maybe will be helped with of a few of you friendly MSE's giving feedback and encouragement
Once gave up for 6 months - then stupid me said - 'I'll just have one'. Never, never have that 'just have one'
Good luck all you fellow quitters
PS Niqiutin 4mg Mint gum 12 pieces £1.49 at Home Bargains good price. No lozengers though! And I don't like chewing gum. xxxxx:grouphug: A smile, a 'please' and a 'thank you' cost nothing0 -
Yipee...A thread where I can boast about being a non smoker!! I gave up on 23rd August 2005!! That's 1 year and 2 months ago...And I haven't looked back. The best bit is, my life insurance premium has gone down!
Incidentally, my husband and I both gave up using Zyban tablets prescribed by our GP. They worked!
