Monday 24/11/08 What small dfw things have you done today???

:D When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D

Today I will:
  • check online banking
  • make a loaf in breadmaker
  • swim and jacuzzi to use gym membership
  • storecupboard lunch and tea
  • carry on cleaning and decluttering house
  • shred paperwork and add to compost bin
  • not use car
  • have a no spend day
Good morning fellow dfw's :D Hope you all had a good weekend, back to work now:rolleyes: No snow here today but very cold.
Hi to all the regulars and welcome to anyone finding us for the first time, and hugs to anyone who needs one (((hugs))). Hope you all have a good day even though it is Monday:rolleyes:.

Ctch up with you all later:D

  • Hi everyone, I have to
    - do washing loads on 30
    - wash curtains in living room as part of christmas "spring" clean Sophiesmum inspired me to do
    - sort some more photos in kitchen (1000's printed and not in albums) as part of christmas declutter
    - going to dentist for 2 fillings (oooch, I HATE dentist and am very scared), hopefully can claim cost back on hospital fund
    - cooking great dishes from stores/manky veg in fridge
    - use boots vouchers to get some facewash
    - get some photos printed for a client

Sophiesmum, these thread are ace for organising me, they get me thinking what I have to do today. Thanks for being a continued source of support and inspiration.

Painted Lady, I know what you mean about using this thread to organise yourself, and focus your mind ;) on the DFW task. It certainly does for me.
And all these dates that are working out :grinheart how lovely

Morning All :hello: it's cold, and I'm wearing grey woolly socks :cool2:-not :rotfl:

    Do today I have/will:
    • made packed lunch with HM bread
    • leftover delight for supper
    • will go to the gym tonight
    • And pick up my shelving for the shed, which I shopped around for, and bought through Quidco :money:
    • got 2 free long life bulbs from some site, some time ago, I forget the details :o
    • had long discussion with OH and we've worked out the next 3 return flights and how where to budget for them. (It's complicated :rotfl: ) It looks like at least one of our frequent-flyer schemes will pay for one of the flights :j If we book them far enough in advance we can use the free miles for the very expensive flights, because they're done by miles, not season, but of course they are V.Popular.
    • so in the light of that, I can do my cash-flow-budget-spreadsheet and work out overpayments tonight. :D
Thinking of my flights pleases me, so I am cheery today.
Hope you all have good ones despite it being a cold Monday.
