Feeling groggy tonight, have had a cold/lurgy brewing for a week or more and it's left me exhausted, on the bright sideI wandered round town for 3 hours today (it was freezing and packed) but I managed to get all of my 'family' shopping dome, my Mum amd Dad are coming up next weekend so I wanted it all to be ready for them to take back with them (saves on postage). It has left me exhausted tho' so not flying today, more like limping...OH wants to watch a film and I'm sure I'll fall asleep 1/2 way through

    zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz:rudolf:

I have an indeist one, it is about 7 years old and going strong, but then again I don't have kids ,and tend to only run it 3 times a week in total.

I've got an indesit too - 10 years old and never had anything wrong with it. I don't use it every day, but do 4 or 5 washes a week.

Well that's another weird one, Mam is going out because she's met someone......bit of a bizarre thing now as her and Dad are divorced but sharing a house because they can't sell it. She's going to his Xmas evening.....this is quite strange emotionally, not something I expected to effect me but their divorce did too. Hence I didn't ask more about where Dad was going as I know that's to his GFs house. Might see if she wants to have lunch here.

Right, time to give myself a shake as done nothing with being on the phone etc. Going to keep to the plan of box it, shift it, clean it, sort it!

mummy2mygirls, if you have a garage it might be a plan, you can run an extension through there for now, permenant electrics can come later. www.adtrader.co.uk I usually use for getting things second hand like driers etc, you could try freecycle but if it is anything like ours there will be dozens of others asking too. I definately wouldn't buy a w/d combi if I didn't have to.
One day I might be more organised...........

The sad thing is that I could whistle the tune, tell you his name was Jack Warner and that he had 2 sisters on the stage called Elsie and Doris Waters. :o Not that old, just stored up useless information for reminiscence therapy! :rotfl:/quote]

Small world, I have letters & Xmas cards Elsie & Doris sent to my Dad many years ago.....they were also known as Gert & Daisy.

And my Mum had chickens called Gert and Daisy after them!:rotfl:

    Just catching up.

    Happy birthday Summermoon!

    Lil_me - I hope you're feeling better now.

Hi to mudbath, dusty, sarah :hello:hex, valli and everyone!

Miserable weather here today, grey and drizzly. I hate it. Anyway,I've been shopping in town with all three teens - a dangerous and expensive thing to do. DS2 has damaged his phone somehow, and it will cost around £75 to replace the screen. It's only a month old, I should have taken out accidental damage insurance...Replaced DD's pick'n'mix :o, and bought a few bits for Christmas, and even bought myself a pretty shirt to wear to the one and only party that I'm intending to go to (don't like parties!).

This afternoon, DD and I made the Christmas puddings, and I shall no doubt be steaming those for the rest of the week. I made an extra one for Dad and also my BIL, as my sister doesn't eat them, so won't cook one!

valli - how's the planning going?;) I have pretty much finished mine including making a flashy powerpoint on cinema for my Year 9's. I'm hoping to add sound tomorrow - but need DS1 to help me sort that bit out! I just have to type up the lesson plans and upload to the school website (we have to do this every week). I'll get that done after breakfast.

Off to watch anything on TV that doesn't require too much concentration.

ps Thank you very much for all the suggestions for presents for my mum , and lil_me, I like the digital photo frame very much, and will look into that!

:hello: Hi Serena. I refused to go shopping today and was quite pleased with mysef. Never come back without spending £100 and I want to save it for the bathroom/boiler.

DH asked if I would like a DSlite thingy for Christmas so we have compromised on £25 worth of second hand books, I have a basket full of all the Ngaio Marsh I don't already own just waiting for me to go and find the new card number. He is going to hide them till Christmas but at least I know I have them to look forward to :j.

Really should hoover before I go to bed but I washed the filter and it isn't dry yet. How is that for an excuse?

  • Evening!

Now, can I remember who said what?

Boddy - it's so nice to have good neighbours at a time like that.

Lil_me - I hope you are feeling better now. From where did you get the photo baubles, please?

AnW's mum - way to go, W!:T I loved the idea of him licking the spoon to put it away.:rotfl:

Likklegibbon - I love Merryhill and used to go at least twice a year when DD was at Music School, but not been for about 4 years. Really must try to make the effort again soon. It used to take me 1.5 hours from our old house to Purple Car Park 6.!

Toots - sort of sorted out! I know I shouldn't be taxiiing, but buses are not brilliant and I'm actually not happy about her getting from Newport train station to the bus station at night on her own, even if it's not late, and taxi is too expensive. It costs DS £3 (minimum charge) to get from our house to the main school building and it would only take me 10 - 15 minutes to walk it, so it would probably be at least £10. I think she was stressed about her RSC weekend, but she's text me to say how much she's enjoying herself now, so I'm really pleased for her.

ZLS1984 - I'm glad the op is still going ahead and will keep my fingers crossed that nothing happens to cancel it. Like I said, you need to get that over and done with so that you have the health and strength for what lies ahead.

Weekend Extras for those mad/dedicated enough to want to do more

Clean any one (or more) window that needs doing

    Extras:-
Christmas Cards to post to Lil_me!!!

I can't actually believe that I've got so little on my oustanding list. I've even done things like washing some of my curtains this week, but I haven't overdone things. I still haven't made up my mind about work on Monday. I sepnt an hour and a half in town today, half an hour of which was in the coffee shop with a cuppa, but I was shattered and I'm still getting breathless??? Really not sure what to do, as I think some of it may be psychological beause I'm disliking the job so much.
