Serena, if your Mum is bedridden, how about a really pretty bedjacket for when she's sitting up?

Right, kitchen has been sorted. I had a good sort out of my 'stock pile' cupboard - sadly there's not an awful lot there. I need to restock slowly. Also cleaned the fridge. That is now just about empty!

I'm off to Mr. T in a minute. I need to do a 'proper' dinner tonight. I've not eaten properly all week really - certainly haven't been having my five a day f&v - I need to rectify that PDQ (for nothing else other than to avoid having to buy some senacot - my bowels haven't been themselves all week either!)

I've hoovered so far and that is it. Kitten is fine when asleep but when awake wants to be right near me and then meows if he goes out the room and can't remember where I am. He has gone back to sleep so going to do some wet wiping now.

Orkneystar...safer for them rear facing. Think I'm getting more protective and paranoid the more children I have
Yes, of course I realise that , but most rear facing seats are the newborn, up to 9 or 13kg type. DS had the latter but he is now in a forward facing seat (9kgs up to approx 4 year). TBH I used to worry about the mums who seemed to be in a rush to go to forward facing, even when kids were very young (less than 1, and not even weighing very much either!), but at 19 months would you be able to buy a rear facing seat that would last for very long ? (I doubt it). Just make sure you get a good, well fitted one she is well secured in!.
    Good luck.
Ok, should be doing dishes now so off I toot!

Oooh Michelle that's a thought. I am actually finding this hard and am full of guilt because I went through awful pain - during not before (it's actually called dismenorrhoeia (sp?)) and for years until I developed rheumatoid arthritis and was on 1200 mg (may have been 2400 mg?) ibuprofen daily. Then other than the RA pain I was pain free for years! Throughout this I worked full time although I had 'strategies) like pushing myself out of chairs with my arms and never sitting low...) It has taken me years to unlearn them (I used to get people to watch me - 'look what I can do now...'
When I became pregnant with DS the RA went and, eventually, I was even signed off by the rheumatologist...they kept me going annually 'just in case' then I could return if I had a 'flare up'. Anyway back to the subject - I feel guilty that she is going through this but I am trying to make light of it...I don't want her to realise that it MIGHT never improve and she is going to put up with it for a long time. So I am struggling for what to say/do...

ETA She WILL NOT use the wheat bag or a hot water bottle ...says it makes her too hot!:o

  • Valli - have you tried Rescue Remedy? Liquid so on the tongue or in a little water, and there is also a spray? Had the same problem, but they decided it was a grumbling appendix, then when it was my appendix they declared it was gynae - till it burst! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Your GP might prescribe liquid pain relief, but I would guess you've tried capsules etc?

Orkney - how did it go?

I SS'd shower room, and washed a bit more of the walls down (it is a big wet room, so taking me a while at the moment!:o), moved the bureau and put the stuff back, hung a picture, touched up some paint where DH has done stuff, hung up washing and reloaded machine.

BTW - please can someone put me out of my misery and tell me what ETA means???
