Sorry Orkney, just finished one, and having a coffee break!

boddy - it's really difficult buying for Mum. She is bedridden, so only wears nightdresses, and she doesn't eat. Toiletries are a good bet - they're always useful! I know Dad pays for aromatherapy and it isn't cheap, so I thought it would help him a bit at the same time. Mum is 80 this December. She was always so active, rushing around everywhere when she was younger, always talking nineteen to the dozen, always doing some craft project or other. It is so hard seeing her now. I've been missing her really badly recently for some reason.

Okay, coffee finished. I need to spend five or ten minutes sorting out Christmas list - I'm really not in the mood for it at all, and usually I have pretty much finished all my shopping by now! Then off to do the weekly shop with DS1's help.

  • Morning flygang.

Frosty here, which is good as it should kill off a few of the fleas and ticks knocking around and make life a bit easier.

I have done a couple of bits this morning:
    • recycling bin/box put out
    • played with kids
    • written 4 christmas cards
    • wrote a list of who to send them to - (must look later as i usually have one in my notebook and i can't find the notebook)
    • rang the vets about the cat urine sample - although there was blood in it, there is not much else they can do at the minute as no signs of infection. I have to book him in some point early december for his jabs, and also arrange to get him sedated and his fur shaved, so that is the next stage.
Boys are just eating their snacks, i think it is time for me to get the pork casserole in the SC, and then perhaps start doing the boys some lunch. I have got spag bol out the freezer for DS2, i'm thinking soup for DS1 and myself.

    Right motivate myself:
    • bring bin and box in
    • find notebook with list
    • empty dry stuff of airer
    • hang up wet stuff
    • peel veg - get casserole on
    • sort boys lunch out
    • write some more xmas cards
light alarm clocks don't know if this will be useful to anyone, there was a boots email i deleted yesterday - if you buy one from there you get 2000 bonus points.

valli i'm wondering if one of the 2 pad TENS machines that you can get from lloyds chemists might be helpful for her. I sympathise as i was the same at that age and for years. You shouldn't really have to suffer should you. Exercise and eating well seemed to help me - plenty of fruit and veg rather than a chocolate and crisp slob fest. All you really want to do is curl up in a ball though isn't it. And it was always worse in cold weather too it seemed.

Anyway, offski as Sam is round my feet with the baby walker and has run over my toe several times so i'd best move.

Argh...trying to work out my Christmas budget and failing! Brain doesn't seem to be in gear this morning. I need to work out how much I need out of Mr G's pay for all the bills, then how much I need for food etc this month and then I need to pay the CC and whatever is left over is for presents I think. Also need a new car seat for baby girl as at just about 19 months the straps in the small seat are now going below her shoulders, really don't want her forward facing though

    But at least I'm clean!

PF if she keeps disrespecting you you could come and be my Mum any day of the week. With the maths thing, I think it sounds more like motivation, keeping reminding her why she's doing it, as that seems to be why she got a D the first time.

I'm hurt! Are you inferring that I'm old enough!:rotfl:Actually, I probably am, nearly :o She was predicted less than that and worked really hard to improve all her grades. I think it's lack of time to do the "huge" amount of homework they get each week, and I've sat waiting for her and observed the tutor. I have to say I wouldn't keep any of mine with her teaching style. She's a "mature" dithery lady to say the least. I've never seen anyone faff so much to hand out a pile of worksheets.

Serena - love a :coffee: thank you!

washing machine almost ready to empty and reload. Been moving some of the stuff ready to put back in the dining room, to clear the study, but need DS to help me move the elderly, inherited from DH's Aged Aunt, walnut wood bureau as it's legs are a bit wobbly. (I know how it feels!)

X-ray results - I was told to make a routine appointment so am at doc's on Wednesday am, but have left a message about the steroids as I am almost finished and still breathless.

All you ebay experts  I have DD's brand new Wedding dress (size 16/18). The shop was supposed to call and confirm the size before ordering so she had lost weight and it would have been too big even if she had gone ahead with the wedding, so we've tried selling through the papers but had no luck. Any suggestions re: cost on ebay, postage etc would be much appreciated.

Dusty - DD did start learning to drive, but again time is a problem. She leaves home at 7.15 and with a car share it's 6.15 when she gets in, but without it's usually at least 7.15. Her car share driver quite often has meetings at short notice, so unpredicatable. She's now decided she'll learn through the TA, which of course will save her money. :T

    Anyone for a HHC 11.30 - 12.00?

    Why not ?
My DS (17 months) has been in his forward facing seat for a few months now.

We have one of those for DS's aches and pains and for my back. It does help, as does a wheat bag. Also check - http://www.essentialoils.co.za/essential-oils/geranium.htm. You'd need to put it in a carrier oil such as pure sunflower or grape, but it would be soothing to rub into the abdomen.

Finally found a torch and all decorations found, put lights on to check and they wouldn't work but fingured out it was the fuse so new fuse in and i'm ready to get the tree up.

Also found some pics of my mum when she was a wee girl so think i might blow it up abit and do one of daddy too and put them in a joint picture frame as a christmas present, do you think it would be a good idea??? as i know she has none of her and daddy when they were wee, well none up anyway. Plus i don't have much funds this year for presents.

Right cuppa finished and gonna get the tree up.:j :j :j :j :j
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.
