Got sent home early from college coz the tutor decided I didn't look well. I thought I was looking better but that's three nights on the trot someone said that at college.

DD is not speaking to me. She was resitting her Maths GCSE (she's 24) to try and improve her grade, so at 6.15 I collect her at the roundabout her car share drops her off at, take her straight to college, come home and scoff dinner then shoot off to Welsh for 7.00. Picked her up, she's not going to college, so I dash home, eating dinner, she reminds me that I said I'd pick her up in Bristol after work (5.30) as she's got her first RSC weekend (TA) and would be late as her car share's not there, only I mucked up, forgot and booked the puppies in at the vets where they gave me a 5.00 appointment. I said I'd cancel the vet and get them in on Monday. She started hassling, ended up in tears (over nothing  coz I hadn't even said no or raised my voice) so I just stormed out to college. Then I sent DS a text and asked him to decide what he wants to do as he and GF have to be at D of E at 6.30, DH is away this weekend, I've to go to Bristol and I don't even know who is eating dinner at our house. DD sends me a text saying she's given up Maths, so I won't need to give her lift there and I respond by saying "Thanks for nothing much", so she came back with quite a nasty text about how she's arranged things so she "won't be needing any lifts from me in future". Is it me? I've been feeling really low, weepy and emotional for a few days now and that hasn't helped, but I hardly ever do anything other than work that's just for me, I run around after them all the time and the one who needs it most (DS because of his health problem) is the one who does most to help. I asked them all before I signed up to my college courses and they all agreed it was a good thing for me to do. I'm seriously wodnering whether it would be easier just to give it all up.

Sorry for offloading, but this has really got to me and I feel really upset tonight. :o
    (((hugs))) PF.
I presume your DD is not giving up Maths just because you forgot about picking her up for something else, particularly since you said you would change arrangements.
Sounds as if she was having problems with the course.
You did make sure they knew you had been sent home from your course didn't you? (and no you will not give it up)
Mind you, you have made me wonder how much I used to take 'mummy taxi service' for granted and at your DDs age:o
Sorry to others, I was catching up before starting day properly, but had to answer this one.

Morning all....who wants to bet that someone tries to drag me in to help this afternoon ;) I'm trying to work out the "safest" place to hide from the rest of the staff :rotfl: I was going to sit in the staffroom as its right next to the room with the photocopier in and just down the corridor from the office...but we'll have to see as I suspect that could be a "dangerous" location to be since I'm not meant to be in work today:eek::rotfl:

Right, best get DD and myself ready for school. Then we're going straight out to town (after dropping bags etc off) to do some Christmas shopping. Catch you later
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!
  • Good morning all. Feeling slightly better today. I still got up at 6.30 and made DD's coffee while she was getting ready for work (it's what I do :o) plus had to get up to puppies anyway etc.

Grabitnow has wireless headphones for £8.27 including postage, so just ordered some for DS as part of his Christmas present.

CS - she's been grumbling about the Maths for a few weeks, but it was her idea to do it. She got a D in GCSEs. I'm not being boastful, she is bright. I was the local chair for the National Association for Gifted Children for 3 years because of her! Because she got bullied at school for doing the class ahead's work (they had to bring stuff in for her) she stopped trying so didn't do brilliantly, although she improved by at least one grade from her mocks. She wanted to improve on her Maths as most jobs she would like to progress to, you need a C or above. We've made sure she gets a lift there and back because of timing. She gets home at 6.15 and starts at 6.30, so it's a rush. We've helped with homework if she gets stuck. We can't do any more.

Anyway, she is going to ask if one of her friends can bring her home tonight. If she comes by train she won't get back to Newprot until 7 and has to be at the TA for 7.30 so no time to eat or shower first. I said if she lets me know asap, I will rearrange the vets etc. To be fair, she's probably stressed about this weekend as it's her first and she'll be keen to make sure everything is right because of her dad, although someone told him on Wednesday that she is the only one who has submitted all the correct paperwork.

Anyway, jobs for today (some dailies already done):

    SS Shower room
    Walk dogs
    5GC

    Frantic Friday - offspring’s rooms
    Level One
Vacuum the floor, even if it's just where you can see
    Level Two
Clear away anything that isn't in it's place, clothes, toys, books etc
Dusting.. all those shelves and flat fluffy surfaces!! Don’t forget the light shade, curtain rails or above the door frame.
    Level Three
Strip beds and replace with fresh linen .. check if duvets need freshening up too!!
Drag all that junk out from under the bed and deal with it as required e.g. bin, put away, wash etc
Wipe any sticky marks off walls and doors
Extra Task List: as usual pick any one or more of the following
Time for the Friday Flylady Fling, aim for 27... choose any area!

    Morning.

How grey and dull it is! Still, at least it's not raining - yet!

    My day off :D

I'm looking forward to having a really good sort out and clean (sad person that I am!)

Tooch - re putting up the Christmas tree - mine goes up when I've bought it! Usually during the week before Christmas. This year I 'break up' on 18th December for two and a bit weeks. I may well buy the tree on the way home from work on that day (I go by about 70 squillion garden centres on my journey!).

GRYFON - without sounding totally stupid... but if posting to you via royal mail is it counted as UK or European mail? Cos if it wouldnt cost too much and you were willing to pay a little towards the postage i can always order anything you want from avon for you and send it over?:confused:

As far as I know we're UK mail. I'll double check though. I know for things like letters a normal 1st or 2nd class stamp gets things here alright. Can be a right pain living here sometimes! Virgin Vie told me I was international  Suppose it could be because we don't pay any VAT and they just don't want the hassle.

    Oh and morning everyone!

Valli...have you tried something like calpol? That's what I give my 9 year old if she gets a headache as she struggles taking small sickness tablets when we're travelling.

Um not sure how much flying I'll get today. Finally it's payday and Mr G gets a bonus as well. A load is going to pay off the CC but I can now do some Christmas shopping :j So we need to find all the presents I've hidden away over the year and work out what more I actually need to get. Think I might go to town this afternoon and see what Boots have in for some hampers, already got my bargain 65p photo albums ;) Trouble is now I can spend I feel guilty doing it! I think that when you spend so long not spending much it's hard to suddenly spend some money! Or maybe that's just me :rotfl:

Actually I will do a bit of flying when small girl is sleeping and clear the lounge.
