Hi Dan,
I've phoned them and was put through to Customer Services ... Firstly, the CSR asked for a reference number next to the search entry (there isn't one!!) and so he took my number and said he will contact the relevant department and call me back ... I'll report back when I've heard something!
Has anyone else phoned them yet?:happylove Tori Bellatrix :happylove

Well, I got a call back (very quickly) and was advised they sometimes undertake further checks .. including fraud checks ... once they have received an application and passed or declined it. I was assured it was just a standard check, does not indicate they think the application is fradulent and they do it on various applications, which in a way this thread verifies as it seems to be done randomly.
I hope that's the end of it ... but I'm going to keep a close eye on my Equifax file and will go mad if anything further happens!!:happylove Tori Bellatrix :happylove

Sounds good so far then.
Thanks Tori, and thanks for updating us.0 -
Mine came from end of June time.
I got the search then the Fraud marker... but the thing is here I dont know anything about the search... I havent applied for anything through them!
Anyway, I've written them a very strong letter telling them I know what they're doing and they need to get that marker off my file or Im going to sue them...a) because I think they've done it for the same reason they've done it to you -simply because the application was declined and b) because I think whoever applied for this card has done so fraudulently anyway (I was a victim of fraud so I think someones got my details) I suggest everyone contacts them and asks why that search has bene placed there.... and ask them to remove it if there is no good reason.0 -

No, i figured that they would just give me the same answer that they gave you. So didnt think there was much point.0 -
i applied for a card 3 weeks ago and got refused. today i have this fraud check appearing on my file, i am phoning them tomorrow as there is no reason why they should check my file again 3 weeks after th original application was declined.
