To The mobile Outlet member- Well I do not know how we all should welcome you to the forum.....Anyways, I am having real frustration and trouble following up my cash back for the last 2-3 months. I was just going to file an online cliam against Mobile Outlet and saw your message. I thought I would give one more chance and ask if you are able to look into my claim and sort it out. If you need my claim number or any other details, I can send you. If you are not interested, let us know and I can take it to the court. The company surely cannot get away with this. may be the company can use this forum to sort out claims and save its reputation and ultimately its business .....

Just came to look at this thread after I made the very first post several months ago.

After some good feedback from other moneysavers I went ahead and made my order, and there has been no problem so far. The first instalment came back in the summer. After reading of all the problems from others I sent an email to TMO to clarify my situation re. cashback T&C, and I was told that they I need to follow the original T&C I got back in January.

So I quite happy. Their response was very quick. Is anyone else happy with the service from TMO?

I am looking for a new contract phone and weve seen a good deal on the TMO website. I know people are saying things like 'avoid TMO like the plauge', but it does seem that now they are starting to get back on top of things and people are getting their money at last.

So, should I go with TMO again?!

Hi all, well I bought 2 phones from Mobile outlet in June (as I'm in a wheelchair and just had a baby and I needed to be able to get intouch with carers/doctors urgently if needed and my old phone was perishing). One phone got lost in the post, so was about 6 wks late. This phone came to light and I decided to return it as so much time had passed - rang MO, someone (James I believe) would ring me back - no one ever did, needless to say by the time I got back to them, my 7 days grace had passed :(.

I received no paperwork with my phones, no T&C, no dispatch note, no invoice, contract anything. I've spoken to the company several times and nothing (mosty spoke to James). I emailed them on the 27 Sept, still no reply, I also copied this email to West Yorksire Trading Standards for their record.

I have now received my 4th bill, which is when I'm supposed to send the bills in????? - don''t know, no one has told me. Also, Orange have combined the phones on one bill, because one phone was late my invoices are 4 mths for 1 phone but only 3mths for the 2nd phone. How does this work as I've been advised I need to send in the originals and they won't be returned (also how does this stand with inland revenue as I need them for my tax return?). So I won't have the bills for the 2nd phone and when the second instalment is due, I won't have the 5th bill for the 1st etc etc. What a nightmare :(:(:(.

I've written another letter yesterday and again copied it to Trading Standards as I'm not happy.

What I'd like to know is ......... Can I cancel or get out of this - I signed up for a specific deal and they aren't providing it. Also am I right that my contract is with MO, not Orange or is it both??

    HelP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Lisa
  • Hi LizzyB

Sorry to hear what a nightmare you're having with this. The only question I can answer is about the bills, I'll leave the rest to the more knowledgable MSEs - include an sae and they will return them. Mine were sent back within a week, but I've not had my cashback yet another few days and I'll start to get worried and hassle them
  • Hi Lizzy B,

I'm sorry to hear you have had such problems with your order. If you want to email your contact details to forumqueries@themobileoutlet.co.uk, we can arrange for someone to call you and try and resolve any outstanding problems. The question regarding your bills and both numbers being combined on 1 bill can be confusing as it not only effects your first claim but all subsequent claims. The forum query team will be able to forward you exact instructions in writing along with the terms and conditions you should have received with your order to ensure you have clear instructions on how to process all future claims.

Finally we would like to advise anyone who has not recevied their cashback and it is getting close to the 28 day period to email the forum queriy team for an update. As you are aware there is a problem with our email at present with a number of emails being rejected by our mail server. To help communication between The Mobile Oulet and our cutomers we have set up an auto response on all emails received by the forum query team. If you do not receive an auto response this will mean the server for some reason has not accepted your email. If this is the case please PM your order reference number and we will arrange for a call back within 24-48 hours.

    Regards,
    Forum Query Team

Hi, everyone, I'm using mobile outlet by mistake because of their good deals but the cashback is no good ever. my first two bills were missing due to the wrong address and i spent about more than 3 months to dispute it and fortunately i got my money back.
What i'd suggest you do now is write a letter with very formal format(better being printed) and state what you are exactly gonna do...like request reply within 7 days, otherwise you'll go through small claim court on which certain date. and also clearly state you have been followed what they've written on the t&c.....usually after such a letter, they'll reply to you on time or just give you the cash back. If they don't, then you send them a copy of your claim and give them 3 days to responds and if they still don't, then just go through small claim court. You'll get your money back if you are persistant. and be confident. Good luck!

Thnaks for that, I've sent a formal letter by recorded delivery anyway, will see what happens now. Unfortunately I am now away for mid-term, so hopefully it will be sorted by then.
    Thanks

I notice that this isn't the only site they have started posting on - I wonder if their complaint numbers are approaching a Trading Standards threshold for investigation? It does seem that direct with the network is how to go now - worse deals, but less stress. Even good free phones which can be eBay'd for instant cashback.
Certain OTT members have caused me to add this disclaimer: all advice given is free of charge & as such should be taken to be IIRC (as I don't spend hours researching all answers  )!

I didn't receive my 6th bill. I sent off the first 5 with a letter saying I hadn't received 6th. They've rejected my claim. How can I send something off that I haven't received?
