The length of time clerical cases take is ridiculous. The most annoying thing being it's the damn useless computer that seems to push most cases this way !

In this day and age truly unforgivable.

Most definitely the computer in my case. Apparently when they tried to process my claim, it took it and the old one onto CSA 2, but didn't include the phasing which caused it all to seize up. Hence the need to go clerical.

MG - I've read this thread and can see where you've been going wrong. You keep on phoning the gestapo. DON'T DO IT, it just gets them off the hook. Deal with them in writing only, that cuts down on their ability to lie to you.

Also, take heed of Sensemaya, she's top girl.

    Finally, nice lips .....

Sensemaya (and others) have been a real lifeline. And thank you for the compliment! ;)

Update: Letter received from the CSA - my case has finally gone to Stockport. I have been awarded £50 consolatory payment and my complaint closed. I can apply for a special payment once I have received six payments from NRP. My MP simply sent me a letter with a copy of the letter from the CSA in it  So I guess now I wait to hear from Stockport...

Spoke to Stockport. Apparently my clerical caseworker has twice tried to contact me (hmmm, yeah right  ) They are speaking to NRP's employers and doing the assessment, then they will call me. We shall see.

  • My caseworker called me back this afternoon  No, she hasn't started the assessment yet, in fact she hasn't gone through my file yet so doesn't know if the linked case information is there, or anything.

Anyway, she confirmed my bank details, all contact details, and said she would have a look at it tomorrow and if she has anymore questions for me she will be in touch. She asked me if I wanted them to collect the money, or for NRP to pay me direct. I said I wanted them to collect the money.

Basically with the linked case going through phasing, and the large sum of money it looks like it's going to be each month, I can see the NRP kicking up a fuss, and if PWC1 is getting paid via the CSA and me privately she would be protected but I wouldn't. This way, hopefully, he will have to pay both of us.

    We shall see.

  • Saga continues. My caseworker called first thing this morning to let me know that they have not received the link case. So nothing can be done until they receive that. Ah well, at least she's keeping me informed

MG - out of interest what exactly was the £50 consolatory payment for?
  • It was because my original application was made back in August 2008, they lost it, didn't do anything with the second one, then the third one went technical!!  It was also for the misinformation I was given - that XHTB would have to pay arrears when because it is a linked case it will be a future date assessment, and no arrears are due until I have been assessed, and finally for the length of time it has taken - 7 months and counting.

I have been told I can apply for a special payment but need to wait til I have received six payments from him, so depending on when the assessment is finally done I will be counting down the months til I ask them for compensation for the interminable wait for this to be sorted out.
