Seriously confused. Phone call from my complaints officer who is recommending that my case go clerical. She said there is some issue with the linked case (first PWC) which is affecting mine, and she thinks it would be best served if it went clerical.
She has raised an incident, making note of the fact that my MP is now involved, and said that she should hear back within 7 working days (not including tomorrow obviously).
My understanding is that it comes off the computer, and a person with pen, paper and calculator looks at both cases and works out how much he should pay, and from when. Am I correct?
Is this going to speed things up, or is it just another giant wall in the obstacle course I have been traversing since August?

She said there is some issue ( oh really? wot a surprise) with the linked case (first PWC) which is affecting mine, and she thinks it would be best served if it went clerical Good for her. It should have been done immediately.
She has raised an incident, making note of the fact that my MP is now involved yeah - it's an incident BECAUSE the MP has now become involved, and said that she should hear back within 7 working days (not including tomorrow obviously) We shall see.

It has just grown higher, but you should be able to scale it quicker, but keep on at your MP...nicely, of course.
Keep at it, MG. Don't trust her and keep liaising via MP.
Now forget about the CSA and enjoy the New Year.:beer::beer:0 -

9th January 2008 : the incident has been closed down. Apparently, something about the cases being linked has meant that the other case has gone onto CSA2 and ignored the phasing that is required. So obviously that's not allowed to happen. Is being handed over to another member of staff and the plan is for it to go clerical asap (but not definitely). Another update next week.Get free advice before embarking on bankruptcy: CCCS 0800 138 1111 National Debtline 0808 808 4000

16th January 2008: My case goes clerical next Tuesday. Caseworker is working on consolatory payment now. Any special payment - for funds not received, etc won't/can't be applied for until he has paid six times so I have to wait six months to claim for the amount they cost me between August and them doing the assessment - flippin laughable
Asked for how long once gone clerical, and was told they will contact me normally within two weeks, but could be longer.
After that, they should have set up an assessment within a month (hopefully). Get free advice before embarking on bankruptcy: CCCS 0800 138 1111 National Debtline 0808 808 4000

The length of time clerical cases take is ridiculous. The most annoying thing being it's the damn useless computer that seems to push most cases this way !

MG - I've read this thread and can see where you've been going wrong. You keep on phoning the gestapo. DON'T DO IT, it just gets them off the hook. Deal with them in writing only, that cuts down on their ability to lie to you.
Also, take heed of Sensemaya, she's top girl.

Agree wholeheartedly
Never deal with the csa on the phone, ensure that everything is put in writing.
Tell them, by way of a letter that you do not wish to deal with them over the phone.
When you write to them send EVERY letter by recorded delivery and print off the delivery reports from the Royal mail website.
Build a paper file! Do not lose anything!
If you have the time scan everything into your pc so that you have a backup of your paper file.
Believe me......you will need a paper file. Phone calls will get in the way and conversations can be misunderstood on both sides.
I have never spoken to the csa, and my paper file is HUGE, but I do not regret this decision. In fact building a paper file, and backing up everything to my PC has been the more than worth the huge effort on my behalf0
