does that mean that I may only get a solo card? I currently have a full visa premier account with a&l so am hoping they will consider matching with a maestro atleast!0

We will have them soon enough... within a month or two IIRC.0 -

If so, I'm going to get a complex because they gave me a Maestro recently!
No, I meant the rollout of Visa Debit is beginning soon-ish, perhaps soon-ish enough for the OP, I dunno.0 -

so every time you apply for something they search all three CRAs? How long has this been going on? Certainly I've seen no evidence of it in my recent HSBC applications (aside from they searched CallCredit this week for my cc app)0 -
They have access to them all.. it is a recent change and im not sure if they would check them all for all apps, only if issues are highlighted. from what i understand, this is an initiative with the FSA to control debt and also to minimise fraud, which is on a massive increase.. fraud such as identity theft has seen a big upsurge.
From a company point of view it is also risk limitation and in this economic climate, this can only be a good thing!0 -

Thanks for clearing that up. When I applied for my HSBC current acc, they only checked Experian. When I applied for the CC, they appear to have checked all 3 CRAs. But then that could be because I have a thin file.0 -
Thanks everyone for your help.
I now have my HSBC Plus Account up and running.
I went into the Branch today to complete what was started via the internet, all very good, and the staff have all been helpful.
I have been given my account details, and have also been able to log in online to my account.
One question though perhaps for someone that works for HSBC - i was told that the computer had said i can have an overdraft up to £200 so i asked for £100 to cover the OD on the account that i am leaving. I have logged into my online banking, and cant see any overdraft on there at all. Is this something that happens at some point in the future or should i be calling them?0 -
Did you find out what card you'll get, Visa or Maestro. It will be a nice shiny black one anyway.0
