Not yet.
Like I said, I have been in touch with Play regarding this and was told yesterday the refund had been applied. Nothing showing today therefore chased it again only to be given the usual 3 to 5 working days spiel.
I still accept the fact this printer isn't coming my way, but they are quick enough to deduct the money in the first place (even after cancellation) but kick their heels when they should be giving me the money back.
I've never looked into this before, but is there any protection or process that the bank can provide to recall a payment like this?
I might be following someone's preconceived "flow" of the thread, but I don't need to be reminded of it in a completely useless post that adds absolutely no value to the ongoing discussion.

not received refund yet but we are waiting back to see what is happening as Trading standards are in discussions with Play over their terms and conditions and how they have behaved.
fingers crossed something might come of this0 -
Hi, I also spoke to Josh who was a little peeved at the whole thing (like I care !!)
Take a note of clause 36 in their terms and conditions whcih states:
Title to any product ordered will pass to you once Play.com has received payment in full for that product. Risk in any product ordered will pass upon delivery to you.
I am not sure this won't sound sarcastic but for all those that have had money taken from their account.......although I am no lawyer......it would seem that title to the product has passed to the buyer and therefore Play must honour the price.
Only my opinion and of course I could be wrong...or could I !!

Brilliant
These threads always go like clockwork.

If we all gave up or thought like you, they'd be no point to half the posts on here re complaining and then little point to the website. It hardly matters that 99.99% of these things go the way you say, just that 0.01% if it makes a difference is worth it. Plus the more people are encouraged to come together to complain the more effective it will be in future and the better service we will get in future. Rolling over and giving up is half the reason we have to put up with poor service. One day someone will take someone to court, or TS will persuade a company they are in the wrong.0 -

Sigh, do you not think most of us have been here before... my first posts were exactly like these... ranting and raving because Littlewoods offered a £125 laptop, quoting various parts of law, picking apart the T&C's everything... complaining to this one and that one... and you know what, we got no where then either!
I reproduced that post from another thread just like this before half the events had even happened.
Now I hadn't even responded in this thread and was just going to let people carry on, but if you are going to continue it, then i have the right to reply. If you want to reply again though, I won't be, so you can feel confidently smug that you have "won" an argument, when the other party had quit responding.

Play have now amended their Ts and Cs to remove some of the ambiguity, sadly this is not in favour of the consumer but it adds clarity non the less.
In reply to some of the cynics on here, I am sure that Play had no intent to do anything other than sell goods at a competitive price yet still make a profit, and its customers did nothing other than take up what appeared to be a good offer.
These transactions are protected by Ts & Cs and Laws, both parties are given rights, when things go wrong customers need to stand up and be heard. Organisations like Trading Standards can be moved to provide the necessary support and a fair outcome should ensue.
To do nothing is an affront to those that worked hard to get the consumer rights we already have and discourages the legislators from pursuing and improving consumer law.0 -

Have your refunds actually gone into your bank account? The status on my Play.com account says that it has been refunded 28/11/08, but I've not had anything go back into my bank??!!0
