Odd some of you say you have had money taken out when Play don't usually take payment from your account until they are ready to physically ship the goods..
The money was taken from my credit card for the printer then I got the cancellation e-mail. As was said it was a 'glitch' but as this printer is selling for £139 on comet, it is not outside the realms of possibility that this price may have been genuine:o0 -

I was wrong, I thought Play had debited my account Monday but they hadn't....however, they have taken the money today when they sent out the cancellation email yesterday.  :mad:0 -
as per previous advice, does that not mean the printer is yours as the transaction has taken place??0

You are right. It would seem based on the info on their website that: "Your card is not charged until the order is processed and packed." Which means they probably got to the stage of being ready to dispatch, charges our cards and someone noticed at the last minute.0 -
just spoken to them and they will refund my account but won't give me a printer - these things happen!
I will get my money back in about 3 days.
I can understand the price error but I can't understand the withdrawal of the payments after the event.
Not good.0 -

No, it doesn't. Price errors are allowed, as long as they withdraw the item as soon it is brought to their attention, just as it would be in a shop where they don't have to sell it to you if there has been an obvious misprice either.
Usually online shops cover themselves by saying the contract is formed ON DISPATCH.. and not before!0 -
I spoke with someone at Play earlier today regarding the card charging - she was very apologetic about the whole event and she appreciates all of the frustration that has been caused this weekend by this product. I've been told that although my account has been debited - the refund has already been applied and it may just not be showing up on my account.
Ultimately I didnt get the printer, I got the run around from Customer services on Sunday, but at least the lady I spoke to was big enough to acknowledge they had ticked off their customers in a big way and couldn't apologise enough.
Its the first time this has happened to me with Play, but will teach me to be wary in future.0 -
