Firefox clearly isnt the problem then

press the 'windows' key and 'pause/break' keys together

    Open 'DEVICE MANAGER'

Are there any yellow exclamation marks?

Open CCLEANER ~ right at the top it should tell you the version number then the service pack
Does it still indicate 4 GIG ram underneath that? Whats the graphics card say next to the ram?

Remove ALL 'gambling' software from your computer

Remove ALL 'gambling' software from your computer

Only gambling software left is sun poker and titan poker both of which when I try to remove attempt to open a file called ptu401
-exe so I have aborted removal as I don't know what this program is.

Is there somewhere I can check the drivers for my system to see if any need updating? I found one but didn't want to use it as I really don't know which ones load crap onto my pc and which ones do what they say on the can if you see what I mean.

Im very concerned about that 'ptu401' exe file. Though ive no clue what to do with it as yet!
Im actually thinking of letting it run said exe file as in the past ive let nasties run so that they actually become easier to get rid of!

I notice your using a radeon x300 graphics card though and the ram shown is only 3.2 gig
This indicates that the card is using ram from your motherboard and I would therefore suggest updating the drivers just to be safe ~

wTitan is trying to open ptu7DD_tmp.exe I've googled them both but no luck. I have downloaded driver update cp usage when 4 windows being viewed in tile mode is 70- 100%

    well

If no one else comes up with a solution ~

Id suggest letting them open the 'exe' file. If there IS a nasty in it, Avira will almost certainly stop it in its tracks anyways

Theres not much else could be causing it as the processor and ram you have SHOULD mean your computer flies along!

    hmmm.....I would suggest removing ROBOFORM.
1 ~ it means your details are stored
2 ~ it could easily be the cause of why Firefox AND ie are slowing down your cpu

Other things id sugegst are ~
NEVER use the 'registry mechanic' program again (They can be VERY bad)
in fact, if it has the option, id reinsert ALL registries if I were you
Then run CCLEANERS registry cleaner (MUCH safer)

Then try to isolate the ACTUAL problem
Im thinking switch off 'windows defender' (not uninstall, just stop it from running)

If that doesnt work then try a proper spyware program

that cpu useage almost suggests something might be scanning in the background, can you take a copy of your task manager processes that are running and post them ?? had a similar problem with MIL's pc, found it was a sheduled defrag running in the background unreported
