Hi Nats
(I love sleeping too – my bed is the best and as of last year, payments finished, I sleep on it knowing its all mine)
Day was good yesterday thank you! But busy at work (I mean come on… do they pay me to actually work on not come on here) and gig was fab!!!
How’s your day today??
Thanks for the cheery comment - I am a cheery monkey – sorry!!I smile a lot too and people at my old work use to think they had something on them (drawn moustache or something
) or ask me what was wrong?!?!?…. It seems being cheery and happy almost is a forgotten thing. Had a rough few years over the last 4 years, (mildy rough compared to some) … but I had some realisations, and some counselling and cut someone out of my life* who made me so unhappy… I’ve never looked back.
(* I say cut them out, that's a harsh way of putting it really - but I gave them a chance and they threw it in my face - their loss!)
Even though ‘moneywise’, things are tough, I know life is too short to stress about the little things that really don’t matter. And now I’ve had LBM and getting these things sorted too – everything is pretty cool!!
(Hope that didn’t sound like bragging:o)
Welcome Intergalactic Floozie!!! :T
LBM is pretty eye opening and you’re in the best place….
Nats is a great read!! Good to see you here

You are doing really well, I've just had a lightbulb moment so am going to start a thread on Monday, which is when I get paid. What's the Cost reckons it's going to take me 6000 months to pay off my massive credit card debt if I carry on with minimum payments. I'd really like to start my own diary (paying off debts + spending) to see if I can pay everything off any earlier LOL (given that in 6000 months I will be very much dead)
Hi Intergalactic Floozie! And welcome to the most helpful, friendly place on the web!!
Thanks for reading my diary !:T I look forward to seeing yours next week - don't forget to post a SOA so all the passing lovelies can have a look and make some valid suggestions as to where you may be able to save some pennies!
Its sad to think you wont be here is 6000 months!!:rotfl: I'd like to see them try and get you for the outstanding balance after about the next 80 or so years!! :rotfl: (kinda guessing your age / making dodgy assumptions, sorry!)
LittleEmms I love your cheeriness - I hope a little of it rubs off on the people around you, as you always make me smile!
I am deciding whether or not I should find a cheap timer, so I can log how long each day I spend on this site. The good news is I am pretty much up to date at work at the moment and there is noone who really keeps an eye on what I do!
Glad you enjoyed the gig!! :T Can I ask who it was?
I am glad you made a decision to make life better for yourself!! I think it is strange how much better I feel about everything just by being more in control (in general I am pretty much a "oh well, what will be will be!" kind of person!) of my money. Payday again tomorrow, so a new weekly budget will be revealed!!
Hope everyone has a great day!!! :beer:start = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225

I love a good plan - it may not work.... but I love a good plan!0 -
Thanks Nats
Sometimes it does, I have a good friend who says since she took some of my attitude and started to be more positive at work (and she has a very stressful job), she’s found people around here are so nice, and willing to help her out. A smile goes a long way in a world that is far too gloomy nowadays!!!
LOL at cheap timer – know what you mean…. It’s been hard as I wasn’t able to get on here the last two evenings (god forbid!!) as have been out…. And tonight I may log on quickly but then must go to bed early!! (little stopout that I am)
Yes it was The Kooks, at Brixton Academy, London. They were really good, the sound quality was not as good as some gigs I’ve been to, but then I’ve been to some big gigs were the bands are more established and therefore can spend more on equipment…. But all in all – really good night out!!
You’ve ‘hit the nail on the head’ there Nats (someone should do a smiley for that!!) … since taking control and not letting anyone get me down, I feel so good for it. Plus since the LBM – it was a shock and not so nice to see what I’m only left to play with, but I feel in complete control now. It may sound sad but I can’t wait to do SOA in a few months (with xmas out of the way) and with bills reduced – see what I can throw at what debt!!
Fancy having a new SOA day with me? Set a date in Jan/ Feb??
Have a lovely rest of your day … and no doubt catch up later!!!

Emms! A new SOA day sounds good! :T (sorry 'LittleEmms' was getting a bit too long to type!! lol)
Not sure mine will be changing a huge amount, but good to do a check anyhow! I don't mind the date,, you choose and I'll be there, posting with you!!
Last night sounds good and as it was all paid for, a nice 'no guilt' night out!
On the control front, I used to keep spending each month until the cash point wouldn't give me any more  By that time it was too late.... luckily (if you can call it that after charging me £25 each time for the privilege) I never skipped a DD payment so it could have been much worse. (yeah right!!!)
I am lookng forward to another £40 coming off my OD tomorrow!!:T Not sure what goes out next week, think its only my Egg loan payment. Will sit and have a look tonight, hopefully it should be an ok week!!
Have a great day...... AND DO SOME WORK!!!! :rotfl:start = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225

Emms is cool!!!
Guess what... .......I did some work this afternoon :T - Did make me laugh when I read your message!!
Was having a think about 'SOA day' - I wonder if a bit further down the line might be a good idea... I remembered today I have two months off council tax in Feb/ March (woohoo) so that can go towards either emergency fund or overdraft (still not sure which one to do first!) .. and also think I'll have a better idea of all incomings and outgoings and what I'm really spending by then. Plus its a big bir-f-aday in Feb - and I know I'll probably have a night out for that!
What do you reckon? Can do sooner if you like, but I thought about not putting the pressure on or making it scary... baby steps and all that
Well done on £40 tomorrow! Sounds fab - do you get paid weekly then?
Hope you had a good day and have a great evening!

Morning All!!
Hope you all had a good evening last night? I didn't write any more christmas cards last night, so I reckon I've still got about 56 to do! Will give me something to do in the evenings - won't it!? :rotfl:
Emms - We'll do the new SOA when its best for you! I don't think mine will change a huge amount so we'll do it when it won't be scary! How big is the big bir-f-aday?? I'm sure you'll decide whats best to do with the 2 months worth of council tax you don't have to pay out!:D
Floozie - have subscribed to your diary - hope you're doing well? :T
Okay, now a little update.......
My OH last night asked me what I was doing. What I was doing was working through a 2009 year planner (in the back of this years diary!) plotting all my DD dates and trying to see realistically when my OD will be at £0. Well I didn't get as far as working that bit out, but do have all my payments plotted. The second week in January will be good - I have 2 large DD's going out that cost me about £150 more than my weeks wages. I think the only other time this happens next year is in September. This is the problem with beng paid weekly and having monthly DD's. The way the weeks roll means that occaisionally it all goes a bit poo shaped!! But the flip side is that at the end of January I have a week where I have no DD's due.:T
Pay-day today! Yippee? Well kind of  Managed to go £4.24 over what I thought I had allowed in my OD, so this week need to set £44.24 aside to put my OD reduction back on track: self imposed limit now £680 (will update signature).
I am going to withdraw £50 from the bank today which will cover me for .....
£10 disesel
£14 cigarettes (still too much really, but have cut down from a pack a day:eek: which is 140 a week - to making 3 packs last me a week....now only 60 a week!)
£15 shopping (my OH to match!) Now, from one extreme to another!! Last night I said to my OH I need £15 off you by Sat to go and do the shopping (on my own after last week! lol) He said "Ah, we don't need anything, we've got loads of food in!" Now, whilst yes we do have loads of food in, we need to get some bits for christmas eats and I'm sure he would like to have a bottle of wine in the house etc. Oh, and theres milk, squash, bread and stuff for packed lunches? Maybe the fairies will drop them off for us!!!
That will leave me £11 in my purse and only about £5 in the account (just in case!)
My OH had some words of wisdom for me last night:rotfl: "You should be saving!" Yeah, I know that!!! As I explained to him last night, this is my plan....... (more to reassure myself than bore you guys, again!)
1) Aim to leave an additional £40 in my OD to get myself to £0. The OD will then become my emergency fund (not great, but it will work - I don't have emergencies :rotfl: )
2) Once at £0 then the £40 per week will then be overpaid into my Egg Loan. Current end date May 2011!!
3) Keep my CC on a 0% for as long as possible - one step at a time!
4) Educate my OH into the DFW way of thinking / living!! :rotfl:
Right I think that is the end of my morning therapy - I do feel better for sharing that all with you!! :T Thanks!!
Have a great day and I'll try and catch up with as many as poss of you later! x:beer:start = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225

Afternoon Nats
I think SOA will be End of Feb… big birf-a-day is 30th and I cancelled having party (before LBM actually!). I realised I would be outlaying money for other people who I don’t see from one month to the next to enjoy my day. I will still go out and those close friends who I do see will no doubt come with me
Sounds like the OH is getting to the DFW mindset slowly but surely!! Definitely meal plan hun before you go food shopping and write down just what you need. You may come in under £30, which will be a bonus! I did that last Sunday and it worked so well… I was focussed and no shiny ‘buy me buy me’ deals distracted me!!! (they’re very rarely a good offer in my opinion!!)
(God damn fairies – they don’t do my cleaning like promised or my ironing and that evil Mary Poppins woman lead me to believe that stuff put itself away if I sang and clicked my fingersb!tch!
)
Well done on cutting down on cigarettes, its easy for others to tell you to give up, but I think you’ve done brilliantly to go from 140 a week to 60!! Maybe set yourself a date challenge of getting down to 40 a week? Say the new year or something??
Sounds a very positive day hun! Won’t be on here tonight so have a fab evening too!!!

:wave:Morning Everyone!
I hope you all had a good Friday evening?
So just a little update (as I think my post yesterday was a little on the long side! :rotfl: ) Last night I.....
Withdrew £50 to last me the week.
Out of that I spent £14 on cigarettes, £10 on diesel and £15 towards food shopping for the week. Leaving as predicted about £11 in my purse. Nothing we need for the next week, so most of that will go on posting the last few ebay items. (Paypal balance approx £120)
Started transfering my DD's into a new diary that was given to me free at work (aparently some reps seem to think that free-bee diaries are a reward for all the business we put their way!)
Washed up
Dried clothes on radiator
Cooked dinner
Had half a glass of wine (it looked all sad left in the bottom of the bottle on its own!)
Chilled out
Went to bed
So here I am at work again!! Today is an extra Saturday so worth some pennies that I will get on Friday!!
Better go and do some work so they think its worth paying (not that they have a choice! I am here aren't I? :rotfl: )
Have a fab weekend all!!:T  :Tstart = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225
