Hi Emms!!
Having a quick look at my spreadsheet (don't think of it as shiney any more... its tarnished!) and if I carry on as I am, I can clear it comfortably by sometime in August (all to do with being paid weekly and having monthly DD's - they tend to fall awkwardly every now and then!!)
OD interest rate 19% ish
Loan interest rate 7.9%
So if I took one month off the loan and put it into my OD, I'm sure I could find the balance from my OT and not overspending (and Q.co money!) and it would be gone quicker!!
I just want it gone?start = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225
end = Mon 28th Sept 2015 DEBT FREE!
I love a good plan - it may not work.... but I love a good plan!0 -
Ahhh August - and if you're only taking one month off your loan (wasn't sure from your earlier post if you meant 3 months) then yes - I would be tempted to go for it - especially as your loan has a lower interest rate....
P.S I'm sure its still shiney!!!LBM - 17th November 2008 - better late than never
Challenges - 2009 - Reduce CC to £1k by December
June - Food £86/£130 * Petrol £50/£80 * Weekly allowance * £80/£1600 -
Right! That is decided then!! I will defer paying Junes loan amount of £238.96 and put it into my HSBC OD and then I think I might even attempt the PAD challenge to banish it forever! (evil laugh, mwah ah ah ah!)start = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225

Have a fab weekend!!LBM - 17th November 2008 - better late than never

Hello All!
Well I hope you all had a good weekend?
Well I have made my request to Egg for my holiday payments. Now, I have actually asked for 2 months off. My thinking behind this was that I can use the first month to help clear my HSBC OD (bain of my life!) and the second month I can set aside as my car fund.... that is this years tax (£35 due in October and insure due at the same time!) Then I don't have to worry about setting that aside and I can concentrate on over-paying my loan. Sounds a bit Irish I know (apologies to anyone Irish!) but that is what I am doing.:rotfl:
I have made a payment to our Teco CC (doesn't appear on my debt list at the mo) from my HSBC OD of £65. This is in lieu of £60 that I would pay into the household account - so money I would have to pay out anyway. Didn't pay from my A&L as this Friday and next weekend (Exeter) is going to put me too close for comfort to my OD limit and I don't want to annoy them by going over it!
So the mission is now on to clear my HSBC OD. Have told OH that if we want to go out this Friday then I will not be going out at all for the rest of the week. He can like it or lump it!! Will check Q.co in a bit to see if my payment has increased from £0.36!!
Good news - both items on ebay have sold. Trainers for £20.00 and PS2 game for £8.99 (both +postage) so that will help. Won't withdraw from PayPal until over £50 in there as I object to paying them more money than I have to! Need to get some more bits sorted to put on there!
Right, I had better crack on at work - although have a bit of a headache and the mo and would rather go to sleep!
Have a good afternoon all!

Have just checked Q.co.
Scheduled payment has increased from £0.36 to £0.92!!!!! It made my heart do a little dance and flutter and I have already zipped over to excel to update my spreadsheet! We-Hey!!!!
(How sad am I? please don't answer that!!)start = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225

lol Nat, i keep saying it but you're not sad cos if you are then so are a lot of us on here.
i know what you mean about it being the little extra's which are causing the problem, i keep spending and spending, i think i'm going to have to hibernate this weekend, do the house work i should have been doing for the past month and most of all NOT spend anything.0 -
Afternoon All!
Well the sun is shining here and I have just got back from the Post Office having posted my ebay trainers! The PS2 game still isn't paid for (boo) despite me sending an Invoice on the evening it finished!! Will leave it until tonight and then send a reminder!!
Well - things are looking up! (not that they were ever that down to be honest, despite my debt, I do consider myself lucky that my situation is manageable with a bit of controlled spending!) A friend has just popped in at work to buy some bits and was after someone to do some arty drawing and painting work on a project they have!! Gonna pop round and have a look tonight and work a price out. Need to know when it has to be done by though as I really only have evenings, after work on Saturdays (from 2pm) and Sundays, bearing in mind I am away next weekend. I don't mind working all the hours - its money!!! (Ooh - ban holiday Monday next week.... there's another day!)Have no idea how to price it though
will have to have a think about that this afternoon!
Well that is about it for now. If they agree my Loan holiday then I am tenatively looking at clearing my HSBC OD early July!!
Have a great afternoon - hope its not raining where you are!
