    Hi All!

Well, here I am... at work again... why does the weekend go soooo quick?

Not in a great mood today. Combination of work being busy and customers causing total chaos, still not feeling brilliant (although not coughing, sneezing any more, just my sinuses feeling like they are full of lead) and the stress of being a step-mum. We have had darling step-son for 2.5 days and 6 nights out of the past 8. Now that is no real hardship except that it is a lot more than usual and I always seem to be the last to know what is happening, which means that making arrangements and planning my time a tad on the difficult side. DSS wants to spend more time with us at the moment (which is more or less fine) but I 'spose with it being Mothers Day yesterday it hit home how much more I seem to do for him than his own mother.... but as she gave birth to him she gets all the 'glory' and accolade! (sounds petty I know, but thats just the way I am feeling at the moment - it will pass!) Having only 2 evenings for 'us' in the past 8 just seems a little unfair especially as we tend to use these evenings to get things sorted so that we can spend better quality time with him when we have him! I'm sure it will all settle down - but at the moment it does feel like my life is being ruled by a 7 year old!!

Nothing much to report on the money front..... except....

Mothers day lunch - my share came to £35 (not bad) and I picked up a gooseberry bush plant for my mum for £1.99 - so that didn't break the bank either.

Took my top back that I didn't like from last weekend. There was nothing else there I liked, so the money is due back onto my debit card. I do need to go and buy a pair of trousers for work, so will pop into MrT tonight and have a look.

Mobile DD hasn't been paid out of either account (HSBC or A&L) so will need to speak to them tonight and see where they thought the money was coming from (thought this wouldn't be straight forward!!)

Thats about it for now! I am going to plough on with my work this afternoon - then I can go home and hopefully have a child-free evening (which will probably mean catching up on all the housework that didn't get done over the weekend!!)

Hope you all had a good weekend and that this week has started ok?

    Hi Nats,

Sorry your a bit stressed at the moment, it must be hard being a step mum at times. At least your DSS wants to spend time with you though, that must be nice. But must be hard being the last to know whats going on though, esp if you have planned things.

Anyways, im waffling, nothing different there :)

Really really must get back to work now :o

    Hi Hunni

Sorry not been 'in' lately - will have a proper read tomorrow. Completely understand on the step mum side - never think that stuff is easy and especially if you're the last to know. I'm knew to this stuff, b/f has his kids at weekends and I'm finding it all a new experience... may pm you about that!

Keep your chin up lady and 'speak' properly tomorrow!!

    xx

Right - I know its late in the day - but here I am!

Nothing to report... at all!! Had a child free evening yest - caught up on the housework!! Have DSS tonight.... so I will wrestle him for use of the computer and check my A&L and HSBC to see if either have paid my mobile bill yet!! Nothing is due to happen moneywise this week sooo its feeling even more dull than of late! But its not getting any worse, which is good!!

So, to pad this out a bit into a 'Nats-sized-rambling-post' here are some bits for you guys!!

Emms - Glad you see you are remaining your usual positive self despite the outcome of your 'invite to a meeting!' Something good is just around the corner for you ... I am sure (therefore it must be!!) I am always up for PMing about "other peoples children" if you fancy it!

    OBNW - Where are you??

Rags - I can't remember what you have been upto - so will drop by your diary to see and will write on there. I think you were aiming for £1000 by payday? Are you there yet?

Elizabeth - Hey hey! How green fingered are we?? Well I 'spose the answer will be evident soon enough!! Something kind of satsifying growing bits.... I am going to plant my seeds over the weekend so there will soon be an inch by inch, daily report on my project! :rotfl: (bet ya cant wait!!)

KD - Whoop!! For making your 'pot' up to £150 - you have done so well! Sorry to hear you are still on a downer - I think you will benefit from some 'you time' though and am pretty sure in the not too distant future you will be cruising forward at top speed, taking everything in your stride.

LemonTree - do you do anything with your budget??

Angie - Glad DS had a good day at school!!

Oh, bought a pair of trousers for work in MrT last night... £6 for vaguely flattering dark blue (not that horrible shade of sky blue!) jeans... I have seen thicker tracing paper before, but they will do for now!!

Well, have a good evening all! I'll be back tomorrow, hopefully I may have just cheered up a little by then!!

    Here we go.....
Checked A&L and HSBC, no mobile money from eithher, so spoke to mobile company who said that the 6 working days between their notification and the day the DD was due to go wasn't long enough, and they had already cancelled my old bank account details! So have just paid mobile phone bill using my shiney new debit card from A&L and the DD is all set up for next month!! Catastrophe adverted and not behind on payments!! YAY!!

Some how knew this wasn't going to be straight forward!!

Have a good evening all and I'll be back in the morning!!

  • Hey Nat!
Well done on checking up on the mobile bill!! I remember the days when I wouldn't have had any idea what was going in and out of my bank, half of my missed payments were just me forgetting! Feels so good to be in control of it all - knowing that everything is paid!!

I'm looking forward to the seedlings updates... I'm planting mine tonight (picked up the compost yesterday from my sis) I'm really excited ha ha!! They better grow now!!
