Here I am!!!!
Mental week so far.... and I overlaid this morning!
Well, lets start at the weekend, well Friday would be better:rolleyes:
Friday, ended up going to the cinema with a girlyfriend to watch My Bl**dy Valentine in 3D!! Was very good - but an extra £2 for the privilege of wearing silly glasses! (£9.70!! each!!) On the plus side, ate at Pizza Hut and used my 50% off voucher, so food and drink was only £8 each.
Whilst at the cinema, I left my OH to go food shopping!!!! £65 later, we had most of the essentials, a new skillet pan, a crate of beer and some nice bits for dinner Val night. We have, however, run out of bread today!! I contributed my £20 food budget money.:D
Saturday was lovely. Went to a museum where they had an exhibition of Bagpuss, The Clangers and Ivor the Engine. It was brilliant. All the orginal artwork and puppets etc. There is a permanent exhibition of Rupert the Bear, so we looked around that too. (me=big kid!!) Went to 'build a bear workshop' to get some clothes for DSS's bear and OH bought me a bear too (for valentines)... have named said bear BURT!!We popped to the pub in the afternoon to watch the rugby and then home for dinner. First time in 5 years we have had DSS on Valentines night... but he was as good as gold and we had a lovely dinner. I also got a box of chocs and a rose. I am very lucky - but we did agree no presents, so OH got his card and then a cooked breakfast on Sunday morning (part b'day present, part Valentines) and he was happy too!
Sunday bought mums b'day present and went over budget by £4.99 - but she's my mum so I don't begrudge her that! It is a rather large plant pot in the shape of a cup and saucer. Its about 16" in diamenter, white with multi-coloured spots on it!! I think its brilliant - hope she likes it too!! Went out to dinner Sunday night. OH paid which was a lovely end to a nice and chilled weekend!
Extra travel Fri night and Sat means I have gone over my diesel allowance and had to put another £5 in last night. So now at £30 for 3 weeks = back to my original £10 a week!!
Well, what else????My OH and being a DFW!!!
We are getting closer and closer. Last night he said (and I quote!! "I wouldn't mind giving this whole budgeting thing a go - its all about changing your lifestyle. If its broken and can be fixed - fix it!!!"
I just grinned and suggested we get organised for him to start on his next payday (Feb 27th) and see how he gets on!! He has not a lot of money left to get him to pay day, but (and I quoted again!) "if its not in my current account I can't spend it - its not going on my credit card!!"
OMG!!! How close is he?????Just waiting for him to drift further away again!!
Well, I can't think of anything else at the moment. I hope you had a lovely weekend and I'll pass by your diaries a little later - work permitting!! If I'm not writing, have no fear, I am still reading you!!!

oh my god nat, he is so on the verge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the dimmer switch is almost on full for him bless. My other half is on a switch, he is either on or off, no inbetween. Have started giving him daily updates of whats in the bank and what we have yet to pay..............................think he is getting the jist as said today that the money situation was getting to him slightly!!!!! will keep at him so his head doesnt touch the sand again.
we have sort of decided to both leave our bank cards in a safe place and get each others permission to use it, that should stop both our little spends here and there. think he really wants the debts out of the way now.......
anyway enough about me (have my own diary for that!!!) glad you have had a good valentine weekend, i wanna go see the new shopaholic film based on the books. That used to be me!!! and very fitting i thought as she gets well into debt in the books.........................

Hi Nats
How ya doing?? Me busy too hun – just not fair!!!
OOOOO how close is he!!?!? He’s dinking the lightbulb (like the moth in Bugs Life) … he’s nearly there!!! Woohooo!!!
I feel quite lucky I only have my own money to worry about as me & the b/f are in early stages of relationship and aren’t living together. It does make things tighter for us both – but he is in a very similar boat to me – so he’s understanding and we’re both not over spenders.
Your valentines sounds lovely – a real day of what you both like doing and I love the Build a Bear thing – How sweet! I like the thoughtful stuff – its so much better than when people do exactly what the shops & restaurants want you to do!! Museum sounds cool too!
Mum’s present sounds good! I like the sound of thatIt has however reminded me that its mothers day in March as well as the birthdays I have …
Glad to hear all is well my dear! Am checking in even if I’m not posting!!
xxLBM - 17th November 2008 - better late than never
Challenges - 2009 - Reduce CC to £1k by December
June - Food £86/£130 * Petrol £50/£80 * Weekly allowance * £80/£1600 -
Right here we are on Wednesday!! (blimey - where is the time going?)
I am sooo busy at work it is hugely unfair and I almost want to cry coz I can't spend as much time on here!!
Quick update in point form.....
Ok, so mum loved her cup and saucer plant pot.
I forgot to mention that I received a letter from Abbey and they have increased my minimum repayment from £25 to £25+£5 - which equals £30 in my mind. As well as a letter last week reducing my limit from £7500 to £6900. Such considerate people!! Luckily I am under the new limit so all is not bad.
Still not heard anything from A&L re: new current account.
Must keep daily clicking - sooooooo painfully slow watching the pots of FREE money increase - but must be done.
Off blood doning this evening - at least its free and i'll get a cup of squash and some biscuits afterwards.
Came into work early this morning to make up for being late yesterday
Still got about £8 in my purse.
Brought £1 worth of change in this morning for the tills at work... so will secret squirrel the £1 coin away into my locked cash box (OH knows nothing about this!!! :rotfl: )
I think that is it. I really should do a list of things to do in the evenings as I am just getting home, eating dinner, doing a little (and I mean a little) bit of housework, watching TV and then going to bed!! I really need to get some bits photo'd at the least for ebay. Haven't made anything from that so far this year!!
Hi-ho, hi-ho, its back to work I go..... Nats xstart = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225

I have read your thread over the last couple of days (I don't get out much lol), and I am well impressed with your progress.
I was going to suggest that you ask your bank to lower your OD by £10 a week or something, but as you are moving banks this maybe a bit moot now
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
