    Hi All!!!

Well here I am on a Tuesday - the sun is shining here, which always puts me in a better mood. Roll on summer!

Well, a little catch-up is in order I think.....

The £45 I gave myself as 'extras' now stands at £5, and I've not bought any of the bits that I wanted to with it - it has just kind of disappeared!
I put £20 of diesel in my OH car as he is good at topping up mine, I bought some hair dye (going grey too quickly for my liking - it was on offer) and also a pack of facial wipes (77p). Other than that, nothing to show for it (oh, half a chinese at £7.70!) So I have proved to myself that I am not ready to be let loose with 'spare cash' yet!! Back to budgeting properly this week and I need to allocate some money toward next week as its one of those weeks where I pay out more than I earn!! I actually prefer these weeks to the ones where I have spare cash.

I'm not too sure that by realising that I will have 'spare' money to throw at my debts was such a good idea, as I am now experiencing that "oh, this is going to be easier than I thought" feelings and this is when I spend more money than I should! So I just need to get it back into my head that this is NOT going to be EASY and it IS going to be a longish haul!!!!

So, thats it for today. I am going to bring food from home EVERYDAY for lunch (something that I always aim to do and very rarely achieve!) Yesterday and today are NSD's though! Can't wait to join the NSD for next month and have something to aim for!!!

Have a great day all - work is busy at the mo, but I will try and get around everyones diaries sooner rather than later!!

I love a good plan - it may not work.... but I love a good plan!
  • I know that feeling!! When it starts feeling easy, that's the point I normally overspend and then realise that I don't have the extra money to throw at the debts anymore, and it's not so easy anymore ha ha!!

I think our attitude needs to be we have NO extra money, only more to put on the debts!!

I also had chinese on the weekend :) was so good... luckily the OH paid, though I said that I'd cook him something nice next weekend to make up for it!! I got a £2 whole chicken last night though and I've got loads of meat from that that I can do something with... so that's good as meat is always the expensive part of any nice meal!! Also have made stock from the bones so I can do him a nice soup for a starter yay!

Once you get into the swing of bringing lunch from home - you'll actually prefer it! I can actually make nicer food then I can buy!! I also always but a value pack of Digestive biscuits so that if I get really hungry then I've got something to snack on in the morning/afternoon!! Have been hand baking cakes to take slices in to snack off as well...

Anyhow I wouldn't worry too much about the £45 dwindling - don't forget you have another pay day to look forward to Friday! !  I've got 4 weeks to wait still!!!!!

  • Hey I've also signed up for the Feb NSD - I'm aiming for 12 days...!! I've also signed up for the make £10 a day challenge. Going to be a hard one but if I get some proper ebaying done then I think it can be done. It's just going to take a lot of effort, but think this is definitely the month to push ourselves... so it's going to be a big NO to going out and treats all month :) Be worth it :D

Hi Elizabeth - you are right!! We've kind of (well I have kind of!) eased back into debt-busting; testing the water to see how the money is for the new year!

And I know I could do sooo much better - I've got to do better to become DF!!! At the moment I reckon I can clear my loan by March of next year, and as my CC stands at about the same amount as the loan I reckon by about March 2011 it should be more or less gone. I will be 31 then!! When I orgiginally took out my loan (to clear my debts - DOH!!) I did it so I would be DF by the time I was 30 - March 2010. So a combination of taking 3 months payment holidays each year on the loan (to ease my OD!!) and spending again on cards has cost me another year of being in debt!!! (let that be a warning to anyone reading this who wants to take out a loan to consolidate you debt!!)

I do get angry with my own stupidity (as I said in my first post) and this is what is going to get me through this!!!!!

    (rant over!!)

  • I too took out my loan to conolidate my debts, and then racked up more on the free credit cards!!!!! if i knew then what i know now then they would of been chopped and thrown away, except for one (for house/car emergancies) and that would of gone to my mums with the strict instructions not to give it back unless its a dire emergancy!!!!! hindsight is a wonderful thing........

  • Hello Nats

Well done on lunch little lady!! That’s fab!!

And OH MY GOD – I join you in the loan consolidation.. If only I had found this website before doing that last july…. … (if only there was a ‘kick myself’ smiley?!?! This will have to do…)

Sorry to hear about the £45 disappearing .. . I’m with you on that theory though. I made sure after buying a few (essentials) at lunch yesterday that I came back to work and wrote on a sticky to take home to spend diary otherwise when money is available.. it’s a little too easy to just ‘misplace’ and then feel annoyed at not being able to account for it.

OOoo where is the NSD challenge thread for February?? Wanna sign up (have done the grocery one!)

    xx

Hmmm - I am out of cigarettes and I am out of money!!! Only got tonight and tomorrow to get through!!

I AM NOT WITHDRAWING ANY MORE MONEY FROM MY ACCOUNT! So I am going to have to smoke a couple of my OH's rollies and just get on with things!!! I don't like rollies!!!

So that £45 has all but disappeared (25p) left and I still need to get about 95% of the stuff that I allocated the money for!!

    Oh well, payday again soon!!!
