Just nipped in to say I saw the lovely breast care nurse, and I am totally 'headlamped' at the moment .She fitted me with a new bra as well bless her.She has ordered another three for me and put in for a grant from McMillan for me as well, as prosthesis bras are a bit pricey. If it comes through o.k. I will get £150.00 towards by bras.which sounds a lot but they are around £20 upwards ,(so to speak) plus I will be able to get a new swimming costume as well. I am a large lady, so cannot buy bras from M&S and have to have specialist ones anyway.
I am chuffed to bits at the moment though and am just off to college in a minute to swank aound with me 'new' figure instead of hunching my shoulders and wearing baggy jumpers:D I shall now sail majestically into class:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: very Boudicea:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
Hi all. Hope everyone is well.
Today I am going to try and make a start on clearing some of the junk we have (and we have loads) tonights dinner is the chicken and chocolate pudding from M&S 2 for 10 and really looking forward to my bottle of wine.
Can anyone tell me the best way to get grease of stainless steele. My cooker splash back is stainles steele and has some grease marks on it. I have tried my usual cleaner on it but its not shifting was thinking of using bicarbonate of soda but not sure if i make a paste or not.February 2013 NSD - 40 -

Have a sudden vision of Jackie doing Babs Windsor/Diana Dhors impression..... Just had a thought, do Bravissimo do prosthetic bras? Am pleased everything has settled well for you, no more round shoulders, remember - back straight, chest out!0 -
Hi and welcome LONGFORTHESUN, I use Stardrops, it's brilliant stuff you can get it from most supermarkets, can't remember the exact price but it's below £1.0

Try buffing with a microfibre cloth or failing that a drop of Stardrops on same cloth.0 -
JackieO - it sounds amazing - I am imagining you going in like Lana Turner or Sylvia Sims in the very early Carry Ons - all forward thrusting!
I am really pleased that you are finding the lighter side of things. Wishing you luck.
For me, well, erm... I've re-ordered the subscription for a magazine for my darling father. I have asked nicely on line for Royal Mail to re-deliver a parcel (I manage to get myself out of the house...), I have done a Christmas present list and updated and checked what I have and have not (my darling father has two girlfriends, one has a birthday on 30 Dec and one on the 9 Jan, so two lots of Christmas and birthday presents for the old rascal's companions. I have finally wrapped the ebay parcels which I had been putting off for two days as it is a job I loathe.Haven't done the ironing. I can feel it looming over me. Definitely will get onto it this afternoon, just after I have fed little bear and gone to the Post office and emailed the poor buyers waiting for their parcles and, well, I'll definitely do some this afternoon. Honest.
So, I am waiting for little bear to wake up from a nap so that I can feed him, etc. But I know that the very instant I plug in my iron, up will rise a wail that demands me. So I am taking it easy instead.
Hugs to all.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
Thanks Betheebee and floss2 have never tried stardrops will get some at the weekend and give it a try.
Floss2 it does read like I am having chicken and chocolate pudding:o I think the chocolate pudding will be best served after we have had the chicken, although my kids would happily have it all on the one plate.
One washing is one another is in the TD. Have too much washing to do so need to use the TD but I have been trying to use it less and less.February 2013 NSD - 40 -
Afternoon all :hello:
It's lovely to see so many new faces/non regular posters on the Daily
I am happy today. It's Friday (:j) and it's payday (:j :j) and I've got absolutely no plans for the weekend (:j :j :j :j :j :j :j x 100) Plus I've just got myself into a senior manager's good books by number-crunching some stats into funky graphs that nobody else could remember how to do
JackieO - why am I thinking of Joyce Grenfell singing "Stately as a Galleon"? :rotfl:
Happy birthday Hester :bdaycake:
LameWolf - enjoy your night out this evening
Hugs to all who need them :grouphug:
Is M&S doing their "Eat in for £10" deal again this weekend? I remember somebody posting on here that it was once a fortnight till Christmas, and the last time was 2 weeks ago (didn't buy anything that time as they didn't have whole chickens on offer) but haven't seen anything suggesting they're doing it this week. (Edited to say: oooh I found it and the chickens are in the deal again- the only problem is that on the weeks when they have the chickens, they have a really horrible selection of wine  - also it does say it's only the medium chickens, however the last time I got this deal it went through on the big chickens too. Sneaky that it's only lasting till tomorrow though - isn't it usually till Sunday?)
Tonight, I must cook. Or tomorrow at least. Freezer now has NO prepared meals left in it, and I've had chilli for the last 2 meals as it was all I had left. This is why it's necessary to be organised about batch cooking when you live on your ownI should have noticed I was running out when I had so many empty plastic boxes that there wasn't room for them in the cupboard, but somehow it didn't occur to me, because the freezer's still full (of raw meat, mainly). I need to go to Aldi tomorrow for veg and will have a cookathon.
Must also find myself a good new deal on my home contents insurance because the Halifax are putting mine up by loads again for no apparent reason. Will be comparing tomorrow.
