my son got a £30 payment this week aswell no mention of the rest though its a start i suppose and it did make his day that he finally got something bless him

Well my husband finally got his backdated money. We applied for ALG sometime in September. We firstly sent off the wrong form, we sent 07/08 rather than 08/09, although his college said it would be fine. We then got a letter back a month later stating it was the wrong form, and to fill in the correct form. Which we did, a month later we get a letter to say we didn't send a bank statement with the form, although i am sure i put one in. So a bank statement was sent, this was about early November. My husband then rang weekly to ask what was happening, each time being told it was being processes. He finally received his contract which he took to college at the beginning of December and the money was in last week. They backdated it 11 weeks.

still only had a thirty pound payment that is since september 08 still not sorted out!!

that reminds me, i must call them to see if they have managed to find mine.. :mad:

well finally all sorted out my son got all the money owed and it is now going in the bank every week

we are still waiting for the back pay. and now last weeks didnt go in that is two weeks money is all he has had since september you have to laugh or I think I would cry!

I hope you get it sorted out soon janet37 its awfull that these kids have been waiting this long for EMA.
someone at ema did tell us something about them having 28 days to sort it out, it seems that when we mentioned this again to them that is when everything was sent even letters they were supposed to have posted back to us weeks ago arrived. good luck and keep smiling : )

Just to update to day finally he has got the back pay from september!

I phoned up few days into Jan and told them that my daughter won`t be going back to school because they hadn`t been paying the EMA and we applied in July. First they said they had no records so I asked to speak to manager, then they decided they did and we would get the paperwork in 14 days. Daughter now had the back pay and getting it every week so she is happy and so am I.
