  • Penny-Pincher - I think you are what is known as a "cheap date" - Mr Rage knows that a 95p Radio Times and a highlighter pen from the desk can get him out of anything.......... :D
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

    Afternoon all,

Thank you for all your lovely wishes - Math, no idea what you mean 'naughties', this child was conceived imaculately ;):D LOL!! at least that was what I thought, until, over Christmas when my brother told me to 'stick your legs in the air' (cant remember why - worryingly!!) and my mum turned round and said 'NO!! look where it got her last time she did that!!!' I'm now very concerned, as I cant remember sticking my legs in the air or ending up anywhere unusual  have I been sleep walking??? :p

Congrats to Rage - hope the new job is everything you hope for.

Math - hope your mind settles shortly and whatever it is that's worrying you sorts itself out.

Hope everyone else is all ok - havent read all posts as still on dial up (bleugh) so sorry if I've missed anything important.

Can I have a prize please for the record number of times the word 'hope' appears in one message:D ??? I do HOPE so!!
    Love

Don't know how we'll get on next weekend when he starts sleeping in his cabin bed - don't fancy clambering up there at 5am!!

One of the MATHLETTS (who shall remain nameless) sleeps in a high cabin bed with a desk and robes beneath it. The first weekend she went in it she got a vile tummy bug, leaned over the side and sprayed the room. If anyone has seen the vomiting WI woman on Little Britain you will know what I mean:D

Math - I've been trying to imagine you looking a little like Jack Duckworth with the dressing gown and specs on ;););)

I didn't say I LOOKED like Jack Duckworth, me little Swampduck:p Infact we are absolutely nothing alike. He's got a face that looks like the skin off a rice pudding and is constantly trying to get out of earshot of his missus - while I... erm...Oh alright... I'll give ya that one:D

Just applied for an e-savings account with Natwest since I already bank with them. It's just a case of me being able to squirrel away a bit here and there to try and pay at least some of the car insurance without increasing the credit card bill and pay for the tax/MOT without OH going overdrawn.

The only other savings accounts owned in this house is DDs' where we usually put any money she's saved up in her piggy bank but lately we've been letting her buy clothes and videos/DVDs and books, mainly from charity shops though, instead of saving. She does her own version of PIN money though, - all the change under £1 coins goes in her piggy bank - then I swap any 10p+ out for coppers when I'm going the laundrette ;) The other one is OH's which is almost empty as we used the money in there to buy our current car. Already it's saved us money by being newer and cheaper to insure AND *touches wood* we've had no major bills apart from the initial brake repairs the cost of which was knocked off the price anyway :D

Hopefully, after the electricity bill comes in and is paid, I'll be able to put away the money for the car tax (£60 I think), and maybe even some Xmas money. I know it's only January, but my plan is to put a little bit away here and there then put a lump sum onto my Asda Xmas savings card at the beginning of November to get the maximum "loyalty" payment and then, if I decide to buy people gifts next year and not just give them the money (:p), I'll buy my family ones in November/December and my IL's I'll buy after Xmas in the sales as we won't be seeing them until just before New Year anyway ;). Or at least thats the plan....

Now I'm off to have a look at my excel worksheets for the credit card while I wait for the wool wash to finish - I'm not going to go the laundrette while the machine is on like I had decided to do as it's just nearly walked across the kitchen and I don't want to come back to a broken machine or a flooded kitchen if it tries it again!

Mr PP sounds a real Knight in Shining Armour type. When the Dragon slaying drops off he's down the cob shop claiming baked goods for his fair maiden. Lift his visor give him a big smacker and tell him ya luv im. Gooooan, goooan. You know you want too:D

  • Afternoon all, just dropped DD off at playschool (1st day back) and DS gone for a sleep so finally had chance to get on here.

Having a good day, WM done 2 loads, 2 more to do but am running out of drying space so will have to wait, DW done, emptied and half full again, pan of soup made from yesterdays chicken cooking away nicely, floors swept, toys tidied away - if it wasnt for that utility room full of ironing waiting to be done Id be delighted. Off to get some of it started before picking up DD and am determined to stick to my routine Ive made up for when she comes home from playschool

    D - porridge
    L - sandwich
D - leftover chicken and veg
