Morning all :hello:
:grouphug: P-P - sorry you've had another bad night and I hope it all goes OK at the hospital.
Had a busy weekend - Saturday not as productive as I'd hoped, because I woke up quite late, put the washing on, took some clothes to the cleaners/menders (including favourite pair of black trousers which - ha ha - decided to split up the !!!!!! in hilarious comedy fashion last week. Fortunately nobody was watching!) then went shopping in Bexleyheath then back home via Lidl, TOTALLY lost track of time and by the time I got home it was 3:30pm! Anyway, I did get around to stripping my bed, filing loads of paperwork, and bagging up 3 carriers full of old newspapers/envelopes etc (!) so how come my room doesn't look any tidier?
I had some great news yesterday about my second (singing) income - it may be about to rise, having been frozen at a level well below the going rate for years! The church where I'm a member of the professional choir has finally got the go-ahead to let the crypt - it's been a project for about seven years and has come up against all sorts of planning hurdles and red tape, even though we've had an interested tenant all that time - and it's always been promised that when this happened, the first thing to go into the budget would be a major pay rise for singers and organist :j :j Not quite sure how imminent (or how much!) this will be, but I'm hoping it'll give me at least an extra £20-£30 a month after tax, which would be lovely because there are a couple of things I'd like to have a proper budget for, but which always end up coming out of my pocket money/pin money. Like I could do with £12 a month for dry cleaning, and a bit extra to budget at the start of the year for April's council tax increase. However the best news is not that I should get more money, but that my church will no longer be in a financial black hole :j :j :j and also it should mean that I can take the occasional weekend off, cos up till now it's been very tricky to find deputies who will sing for so much less than the going rate. You'd think music students/young professionals would be skint and not so choosy, but you'd be surprised (I think people tend to prefer to hold out for a better offer elsewhere).
I did think about going to the cinema yesterday afternoon but decided to go sales-browsing instead - found a nice top in Next mega-reduced to £6.49 - but the weather turned so horrid that I realised I should have opted for the nice warm cinema! (Want to see The Producers and Narnia, and am quite willing to go on non-bargain day especially for Narnia because the audiences are always really noisy on cheap day at my local, particularly for kids' films.)
Sandwiches for lunch today, with leftover brie and cranberry sauce from Christmas

Well if you need some support before you go through the door you know where to come.. maybe you could just do the toddler group then come back home to see how you go with that. :grouphug:0 -

Morning all :hello:
Didn't get to sleep until 1am as OH and I were talking. We've been having problems for the past year or so - mainly through a lack of communication - but the past couple of days something has clicked back and I have my old OH back again  So, we spent until midday Saturday in bed talking, the some time Saturday night, then again yesterday morning until about 11am and then last night from about midnight (after he'd finished "counciling" a friend who has girl problems) until 1am!!! Guess we've mad up for the past year of minimal-communication :rotfl: Result is that when the alarm went of loudly at 6.30 to get me up, I got up and turned it down and then went back to bed until OH woke me up at 7am  So much for getting up at 6.30 to exercise and do bathroom stuff BEFORE OH goes for a bath at 7am :wall:
Anway, I put the washing machine on timer last night so I came down to a machine full of really clean towels and I've done another mixed load of light stuff which has just finished and put in another load of dark washing! How this had happened when I only washed on Saturday night/yesterday I don't know but it has. Once the load that is in has finished I'll put a quick wool wash (only takes 30 minutes and then I'll put it on another spin to get some more water out) and then I'll be off to the laundrette to spend the rest of the Xmas money which I've been using as housekeeping and all the 10p+ PIN money I have to try and get all the washing dry  While I'm at it I had better pop to the Co-op to get some more milk and OH a white loaf (he doesn't do "brown bread" toast  ). Normally I'd also pop into the fruit shop and get more bananas and citrus but I have a fruit bowl (AKA large mixing bowl! ) of apples and bananas that need to be eaten so they can whistle for more fruit in this house until the bowl is empty!
Other plans for today are to do the washing up, do some bagging up of soup and stock I made yesterday, make some dumplings to go in the stew I also made yesterday and, hopefully, finish the ironing. I'm also planning on read the small print on a Halifax CC offer I've had in the post. If its no good to transfer a Natwest card to then I'm going to have to go looking for some non-Royal Bank of Scotland card.
Oh well, better go and get on with things ....:wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Well I have given my notice in today :j put it on the business managers's desk and then the awful doctor came upstairs so i agve her her copy and she was "oh has stephen got this? is it on stephen's desk? i'll tell the other docs"and I was like, well (a) one of them knows and (b) that's a copy for information luv............ read it and said "so you're leaving on 3 Feb - jolly good" - at least the business manager said congratulations!!! god she's such a B....... anyway, word on the street is that the two receptionists who are useless (forget who they're putting through, patient complaints that sort of thing) apparently have typing skills - copy apparently - so we all think they're being lined up to do a medical secretary job!!!! ha ha ha :rotfl: god this place is pathetic. I was a little put out actually - naturally all the nce people on reception have said they're gonig to miss me etc. but it makes me feel a little unwanted. needless to say the greek doc has started to ignore me now and is all over the useless receptionist.......... OH isn't working today so he has promised me chicken curry for tea - yum. meeting him for lunch as well............ well, on with the non-existent work I have to do.But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0

Morning All,
PP - I hope you feel better and have a better nights sleep tonight,
Math - I hope you get a better night tonight too,
Moggins - Am nearly in tears reading about your DD moving out, I kind of know what you mean, my DD's are a bit young yet (only 10 and 7) but I have a similar relationship with my mum, relationship with OH is just not the same. My mum was left living alone when I left home to get married, but our relationship now is better than it was when I was at home, because you have to make more of an effort. I'm sure I'll feel similar to you when my own DD's eventually leave home.
Girlpower - I hope you made it out today OK.
I was intending to nip to the shops for a bus pass as am back to work tomorrow, and also some red fluffy wool for a scarf for DD to match some gloves someone bought her for Christmas, but DD2 was getting an award this morning in assembly so she asked me to come and see it. So my early start is now a late one. I intend to have a good blitz of the house, but no washing to do or tumble drying or dishwashing at least. I'm not touching the ironing thats in the basket today, may leave it until Wednesday.
B- toast,
L - left over beef casserole with some tomato and parmesan bread to dunk
D - chicken pie, cauliflower, carrots and new potatoes.
Started a meal planner yesterday, it took me ages to write down everything that we have in all the cupboards, but then I had a complete blank and didnt know what to do next! So I will battle on with that tonight and try and make some sense of it. Have formulated a rough plan in my head as to what we may be having for tea this week, my problem was that although we have cupboards that are heaving, we dont actually have huge amounts of meat in the freezer, and OH is a true carnivore, a meal is not a meal without meat. I will have to do a rethink.
Right, onwards and upwards! Hugs to anyone who may need them today.0
