Better go and send email to OH about list of jobs for him to do around house today then I had better start some work

    Take care

  • Hello,
Its my last day of freedom before work tomorrow. Need to blitz the house from top to bottom.
Tea tonight (according to my new meal planner which is stuck to the notice board in the kitchen - looks dead posh, Im so impressed  ) is mince n rice.

Have taken DD's to school, had to run as a bit late - (actually this was kind of planned, DD's have never been late for school but this is more by luck than judgement, I say hurry up and they ignore me  , so I thought maybe if they are a few minutes late, they might hurry up tomorrow)
Reading yesterdays diary thread, Pooky struck a chord, my eldest DD (10) seems to be getting hormonal, spotty and greasy haired too. Horrible - it gives me a taste of whats in store as the mum of teenagers and it aint pretty!
Honey28 (welcome by the way) I also feel that reading this thread is a bit like treating yourself to half an hour with a cuppa and a good book, quite often when Im sat here in the lounge on O/S at midnight whilst everyone else is snoring, I feel like taking the computer up to bed with me, maybe I should be very un moneysaving and get a laptop. :D
Right ho hum Im off to don me cleaning clothes and get stuck in. Good luck at the hospital PP - hope all is well.

OMG!!! I have lived in this house for 7 years and have only just realised that there is a house with a window at the back that is so high up they can see straight into my kitchen. The amount of times I have run starkers through my kitchen to get to the loo secure (I thought) in the knowledge that no one could see me. Guess I'll have to make sure I put my dressing gown on next time.
    :rotfl: thanks for that, moggins

    VickyA - ((hugs))

Rebob - That's GREAT news on the car front :T :T Must feel good to know MIL is repaid too. Fingers crossed in getting your car sold now.

Michelle - your Sunday sounded lovely! Good luck with your share of your Mum's garden, it's a good start that she's agreeable, everything else will fall into place.

bonnie - Aww, poor dd :( And poor you, it's never nice to stand by while our children have to have lots of treatment for one thing or another. ((hugs))

dorry - hope you're enjoying your new DW :D Hope you get all your written work done this week.

elona - if the pedo was only recording 1/6th of your steps, does that mean that instead of 7000 you actually did 42000 - that's how I would calculate it anyway ;) BTW, polishing 9 prs of shoes certainly *does* count!!

    :hello: Welcome honey28 :hello:

Jo - you did well with your shopping! :T

Funky - so that makes you 10th Winners then :D :T

Pooky - It is very sad to close the door on memories of your childhood home but yes, if it's time for them to move on, so be it - nothing will take away your fond memories though ;)

taplady - Crikey, polishing off that lot I'm surprised he didn't make himself sick :o He must have the constitution of an OX! LOL

MATH - great tip re: salt! Thanks :T

Katgoddess - well done on your £40 bonus!!

Nels - you may have the OS Award of the Day for your candlelit evening ;):D

    Morning folks!

This w/e has been fairly low key.

Sat morning DD and I went to the nearest Farmers' Market, it was OK, but not brilliant (I've been to better). They seem to be a fairly recent thing to have around here, so give it a couple of years and I'm sure that they will be far better.

Sat afternoon DH came home and actually put a load of washing straight in to the machine before flaking out, now I know this doesn't sound much, but trust me I've been trying to get him to do this for ... ever, since we've been together! The up side of this meant that I got the load of washing out on the line early afternoon and it mostly dried!

Sun am, went to the local carboot sale .... dearie me, it was bad! Badly presented, dirty tat! I know that this isn't representative of car boot sales in general, having been to a fair number in my short (a-hem, cough) life.

Sun pm, got DH and I fully engaged in the idea of the meal planner ... so now we have 4 portions of mash in the freezer, one for bubble 'n' squeak tonight, Curry Queen's curry sauce made and bottled, loaf on, and Roast Beef consumed with HM crumble afterwards. DH is a good cook when he gets going :)

Sunday evening saw DH and I taking part in what can only be described as a military exercise! The one of moving a sofa bed from one floor to another, up a small winding staircase, 5 attempts later and we did it! If a company ever needs to set a "Group Exercise" in communication and working together - this would do it!

As a result it means that I now have my sewing room almost setup!

Today will be washing, work, pilates, clearing up the living room briefly as we have the IFA coming tonight and attempting to figure out to thread my overlocker!

    B - cuppa tea
    L - soup ?
D - bubble 'n' squeak with leftover beef

Hurrah on the potty success .... it's something I am going to have to tackle at some point, and dread it!

    :hello: Gooooood Morning! :hello:

Both boys are on the mend today (which is a relief - I'm a soft touch when they are poorly).
I have numerous appointments at various locations/times this week so I spent some time on Saturday doing a flexi meal plan for the week.
Have a stack of ironing to wade through today - not very exciting LOL - but I'll put on my CD's while I do it and time should fly by ;)

    smokey - enjoy your boss-free-surf-day ;)

PP - Good luck at the hospital today.

skystar - Hope hubby gets on with is list and the place is sparkly bright when you get home from work. We often have l/o chicken with pasta/rice or an old time favourite we sometimes have in colder weather is Chicken Crumble  (Mix the chopped chicken with some corn or whatever veg in a white sauce, top with crumble mix (but no sugar! you could add any herbs/seasoning that tickles your fancy) pop in the oven until heated through and golden - voila!

joannasmum - good luck at swimming world. Aww, hope you enjoy tonights treat from OH although I'm chuckling at the concept of take-away as a reward for sticking to a diet; lemony chicken sounds very tempting!!

Jo - pack some lemsips (or a generic version anyway) in your bag to ease the cold symptoms at work. Hope you feel better soon.

scuzz - is your boss called Scrooge by any chance? Do you think he'd give you time off for your own funeral? (probably not by the sounds of it :( ) Do take care! Health is immensely important. ((hugs))

SueRob - ((hugs)) Wishing you well with the appeal. If it could take a few months, might be worth thinking *now* about what you would do *if* the worst happened and you got the result you *didn't* want. What would your plan of action be then? When we're worried, we spend a lot of time and energy on the "can't do's" but that's mainly down to being overwhelmed and having our worst fears met. If you start thinking what you *will* do in the worst case scenario, you will already have given your sub conscious something to work with. You might even surprise yourself at how ingenious you can be. Wishing you all the very best ((hugs))

Ice - well done on your organising. Good luck with your menu plans too.

Learning - nice postie day for you today :D:D can you point me in the direction of the half and half bread? TIA :)

chardonnay - sorry you're sleep pattern is up the spout :(:( Hopefully it will settle back to normal soon.

freya - ((hugs)) I know this is probably old advice and not timely for this morning - but seriously, if you make the packed lunches the night before - it can save you time in the mornings and help make it less stressful. Hope your day improves.

moggins - great idea with the cushion! :T Thanks for the tip on Co-op!! :T

foreverskint - Good to see you posting :T :T

omega - first you may feel  and then by day 4 you will feel :j and then she will be home again ;) It will be great fun for Nan, a treat for your DD and a nice break for *you*. Try to enjoy it. :)

Pooky - Enjoy your "Me" day ;):D

Funky - oh dear :( Hope you are feeling better soon, sounds like you have the lurgy that's going around (((get well soon)))

Bargain Rzl - Great bargains!! Enjoy yourself tonight :D

Sweet Pea - Enjoy your final day before work tomorrow, would love to see a piccy of your meal planner - you sound so proud (and so you ought to be!)

    Take care everyone

    Morning all,
PP hope all goes well at the hospital, know all about waiting around either very cold or very hot waiting rooms!!!!!
Well, DD had her first appointment with the speach therapist today, i went in for half of it, to give background info etc, so hoping they can help her, she started having problems when she fell over and knocked her 2 front teeth out when she was 3, but even though they have now grown, she still has a few probs with some sounds.
WM just finished, so just need hanging on the airer, 3 little ones here, we are playing play food today, might get the crayons out in a mo if im feeling brave!!!!
Not much else going on today, just general tidying and still have to make our lasagne for tonight, but that wont take long, much rather sit with a coffee and the play food!!!!!
    Take care everyone xxxx
