Such a shame, Woolworths is such a part of British culture. I went in today at the last minute to get a birthday card and they had LOADS of staff in there. It looked like they were getting all their old stock out and selling it off cheaply. They had things like birthday cards for 25p, christmas paper tablecloth and runner for 50p, reductions on christmas decs, penguin shaped salt and pepper sets for £1, various craft stuff reduced. I'd guess that tomorrow there will be a lot more stuff reduced. Felt a bit bad buying some of the heavily reduced stuff but hope it helps in some tiny way.

hduk quote;Went into my local woolworths today and found a little touch leap pad learning system for 9 - 36 months. It comes with 2 games...baby's first words and disney pooh loves you. It had a price sticker saying £15 off from £58.97 to £43.97 and then another label saying now £15.00!!! Along with my 20% (i didnt have the voucher i told the till lady i left it at home and she gave it to me anyway!)off made it £12...fantastic bargain!

Saw some Christmas lights yesterday in my little local Woolies (200 clear blinking lights), so when OH came to pick me up from work and I wasn't ready, I sent him up there to get them and gave him £15 (price they were yesterday)

He came back and showed me the receipt, they were half price, so £7.50 and then there was 20% off that too (he didn't have a voucher though?), so they only cost £6!

I went into the Streatham branch which has been there since i was a little boy. Picked up some fake fur throws down to £15 from £50 and smaller throws down to £6 from £15. Wasn't a great selection so went into
Croydon and joined the masses - queues were pretty long, spent ages in there and walked away with £165 goods for £60 (inc 20% ofcourse) lady next to me bought a PS3 and I couldn't resist giving her a voucher - she was so overjoyed that she gave me £10 - i did however save her £40 on her shopping.

    Good result all round.
The more I practice the better I get!!!
