Did anyone from the original thread ever lose weight with this? Are you all still using it?

The beauty of coconut oil is that it can be used for so many things! I have a large pot that I'm slowly working my way through. I use to it do a little cooking as well as using it on my skin. It cleared my eczema right up, so I started using it as a leave-in conditioner for my hair, which is now lovely, shiny and soft.
What make of coconut oil are you using for your dry skin? My hands are suffering a bit at the momentBe happy, it's the greatest wealth0 -
Does anyone know the benefits of this ' certified virgin coconut oil' from Sri Lanka, please ?
What can it be used for, etc ?
Many thanks.0 -

I've had a pot of unrefined coconut oil in my kitchen for about 4 months after buying it on a whim. I had forgotten what to do with it but this thread has fascinated me and made me determined to use it every which way over the coming weeks, thank you to all the major contributors to the thread :TI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
I just tried using refined Coconut Oil in a Deep Fryer to cook frozen Chips and they came out really well. There is a slightly unpleasant coconut smell whilst cooking but the smell and taste aren't on the food.
I believe refining removes most of the smell and taste of the coconut and also increases the smoking point of the oil to make it suitable for high temperature cooking.

I wouldn't used unrefined for deep frying, but onions shallow-fry beautifully in it - a lovely sizzle, no burning (as long as I keep an eye on the heat).
I had forgotten all about my huge pot in the fridge, will have to cook a curry - no worries about coconut flavour coming thru because it "belongs"

Having read through this whole excellent subject, I don't know whether the brand sold at H & B has changed, but apart from the fact that it's not organic, it states it is unrefined. Previous posts have said the H & B brand isn't any good - whilst there may be better brands out there, can anyone confirm that 100% pure unrefined coconut oil is the right thing to buy for both internal and external uses?0

Hey guys - I just stumbled upon this thread. I haven't had the chance to read the whole thing, but some of the prices being quotes seemed quite steep for coconut oil: I just bought 500g of pure coconut oil in a tub for £2.68 in a Thai supermarket this evening.
I'm going to make soap with mine.0
