  • Another £5 down for a deposit on a second Crimbo night out with the girlies, taking me down to £276.86! It's disappearing fast!!

Ur doing really well, your managing your money, and by knowing where you spend every penny, it gives you a better idea.

Any more new on the uni front, have u had chance to do Quidco yet, at least with some of the offers, should make a small dent in the hol fund. Hope the suggestion of the dress works, Im sure with the offer of you buying ur own will do the trick.

Ur xmas spend is brilliant, nearly had a heart attack earlier, added up the cost of everything Ive brought for dd, didnt think she had to much, started wrapping, thats what gave me the idea, I've spent over £300, yet theres nothing that thats big purchase, the dearest was £20 for a quilt cover!

Guess its me who needs a kick up the rear for nxt yrs spends. xx

Yeah I felt as though it was all going well, seems my monies disappearing fast though!

I finally got round to getting Quidco set up and ordered the A&L Bank accounts - making me a bit nervous, as I'm worried it'll affect my credit rating - but not sure if I'm just being daft! I ordered their Credit Card as well, I only have a low limit on mine (£500), which is fine, but the A&L one offers cashback which mine doesn't, and I do sometimes still pay things on my card and clear it at the end of the month - not sure if that was a good idea though!

Mad with myself now though, ordered mum's crimbo pressie from M&S this morning, thought I was doing well since they had 20% off, and I hunted the internet 'til I found a discount code to get free delivery - so in total saved £27.19 - turns out I could've made another 5% back though if I'd used Quidco!! hhhhmmmpppphhhh!!!!

No news on uni yet, my interview's next Tuesday! I got an application through for another uni this morning though, so I'll get that filled in and sent off!

I don't suppose you can really avoid spending that amount when you have a kid - and at least if it's lots of little pressie's she'll think she has loads! I think they enjoy opening lots of little pressie's more when they're that age, rather than just 1 or 2 bigger ones!!

    xx
  • Today is just getting more and more expensive!!

My old Biology teacher and his wife have gone massively out of their way to help me out in my prep for my interview next week, so I bought them a "little" pressie - a case of wine with 6 bottles in it, but using the 20% off and Free Delivery Code that I found, and considering it already had 33% off, I got it for £28.91 when it should've been £39.64 - plus I remembered to order it through Quidco - which means I should get 5% cashback! :D Provided I did it properly anyway!

Taking me to a grand total of £247.95 to live on for the rest of the month!

On a plus point I've only 2 more presents to buy, which should come to £35 between them! So the rest will just be to cover my nights out, which I'll just have to make sure I do as cheaply as possible!!

re Quidco, when you get a spare hr and a glass or 2 of wine, its worth going through the A-Z and picking up the money off ones, requesting brochere etc, they soon mount up.

If I spend anything from the interent the 1st place I look is Quidco, honestly it becomes 2nd nature.
Just think the A+L bonus money, will put a small dent in Mexico bill! x

Thanks mum2one - I will get round to trailing through it at some point! And I did remember about it the second time I was buying a pressie fro M&S - so my total due is standing at around £71.40 - or thereabouts! :D I'm finally getting round to starting looking at savings accounts etc, and am hoping I'll at least have a little holed away for Mexico by the end of the year. As soon as that's done and dusted - I can start focussing on my uni fund - ah money, money money!!! Why is there enough of it! ;)

Hope you're having a good weekend mum2one - you anyting exciting to report?

    xx
  • Well it's been a busy, although somewhat uneventful weekend!!

Friday, I went to the comedy club with my boyf - and what a giggle it was!! Tee hee!! I'd intended to try and do it without spending any money, OH owed me some money from last month, so he bought the tickets and I took the car to avoid drinking alcohol (saving calories as well as money!!) - but in the end I did buy a round and a packet of sweets between us - I just felt far too tight expecting him to fit the bill - he's even more skint than me at the mo, so it's not as though he has the cash to throw around! Although it wasted a No Spend Day, I did only spend £5ish in the end, plus I gave my mum back a fiver that I owed - so it was a very low spend day, and I had a great night!!

I'd planned on going to the cinema with my mum last night, but i the end we went for dinner instead since I've had so much studying to do, which she very kindly paid for - so that pulled back my NSD, and as I've been holed up studying today, I haven't set foot over the door, and therefor haven't spent a penny!! Making it NSD no 4 on day 7!!! :T :j

So that leaves me £237.95 for the rest of the month! Which is actually a lot more than I thought I had - so that's good news! All of the things I've ordered on-line haven't come out of my account yet, so I was starting to get a little stressed out wondering just how much money I actually had - but I don't think I really needed to worry!! :D

    xx

  • Almost my final update..........

    Mum Overnight suitcase (£2.99), 2 pairs of trousers, and 3 tops from M&S (£79.31) = £82.30
Cameron (boyfriend) Nothing yet, but agreed a limit of £30 since he's struggling a bit too, hhhhhmmmm.....
Arlene (Sister) Toiletry set (£1.69), Gimmick Coffee Mug (85p), Hand Lotion (42p) = £2.96
Stephen (Bro-In-Law) Gimmick Coffe Mug (85p), set of "world Beers" (£4.00) = £4.85
Debi (Sister) Toiletry set (£1.69), Gimmick Coffe Mug (85p), Hand Lotion (42p) = £2.96
Andrew (Bro-In-Law) Gimmick Coffee Mug (85p), set of "world beers" (£4.00) = £4.85
Hayley (Niece) Play boy Tote Bag (£0) - a bag I bought 2 years for someone and never gave them it cost £25 new and still has tags on, tube of Tangfastics (£1.00) = £1.00
Jamie (nephew) Metal Vehicle Construction Kit (£2.99), Make your own "Violent Volcano" Kit (£4.99) = £7.98
Cara (Niece) 123 Piece Art set in a wooden box (£4.99), tube of tangfastics (£1.00) = £5.99
Rosa (Niece) Retro Space Hopper £8.19, tube of tangfastics (£1.00) = £9.19

Miscellaneous spend: £3.50 for wrapping paper, bows 72p, £2.94 for Christmas Cards= £7.16

    Total spend so far: £124.24

    Rosa's Birthday on 23rd of December: Ballerina Doll (£8.99) = £8.99

Final total spend so far on pressie's in December: £138.23

The only update is the last part of my nephew's pressie. Which my boyfriend actually bought out of the money he owes me, (He only owes me £20 - but I seem to be making it stretch quite far - he's also paying for my ticket to a gig on Wednesday out of it - which should then make us even!! ;) ), upshot is that it doesn't affect the amount of money I have left for the month!! :T

I only have his pressie left to buy, we had put a £30 limit on it, but he asked the other day if we could up it to £50 since he'd seen something he thought I'd like - the original idea I had for him was to book him in for a snow boarding lesson (he's been saying for ages how much he really wants to learn!!), but that only comes to £27, plus I'm also thinking that since he's trying to get his own finances under control, he won't be able to afford any more lessons any time soon - so it's maybe a bit of a waste of money! I'll need to get my thinking cap on!! hhhhmmmmm........

Anyways - I'm off to get back to my never ending cycle of studying! I felt as though I was gonna cry earlier I had so much reading to do - but I actually think I'm just about getting there with it!! Fingers crossed anyway.......

Good luck with ths studying be worth it in the end, very quiet here, did try to do my own fake nails, but the glue dried up, so am now sporting 2 fake nailson each hand, so will have to be emergency trip to Boots in the morning. Off on the Orient Express tuesday for the afternoon.

Re boyfriends prezzie the snow boarding lesson sounds fab, might be something he hasnt thought about.

My dads 60th, he had a trial flight in 2 seater plane, his 65th he had hot air ballon flight and a 4x4 off road experience, for his 70th this yr he had another hot air ballon flight, and a 3hr rally driving experience.

It was things that he hasnt done again, but is a one off experience he loved. My trip on Tuesday, its an early 40th bday present, and I've pd for my mates ticket, as her early 40th (thou did the tickets with Nectar points - saved £60 each, and the rest was quidco, one poll etc, so very luxuroius and a freebie!).

Been a busy few days! had a gig on Wednesday night - which was fab, fab fab!! Yesterday was a rite off due to the hangover - and I also got a parking ticket!! My own silly fault though! ;)

Having a quiet one in tonight, got the first of my christmas parties 2m night - so it's time for a bit of pampering and some fake tan aaahhhh.....

    xx

PS Totally lost track of the budget, I'll figure it out later though! ;)

I am in love with the Orient Express, it was out of this world, the food, the service, we just wanted for nothing. Thou didnt find any rich hunky men........

Had an incentive for my own debt free life, if I pay 4k off my debts by Mar 2011, (mine and mates 40th bday), she'll pay for the both of us to have afternoon tea at the Ritz....

Sounds positive from the inteview, have they given u a date when u should have an answer back. ? x
