Hello hun!
Sorry for not checking in sooner - not been on here for a week  (withdrawal symptoms good 'n' proper).
Well done on the cheap weekend! That sounds fab! and on your £216 left over. The fact you want to keep it aside and not spend is always a good thing!!
And try not to feel guilty on the other half treating you hun, (although I’m very similar in the sense of feeling the same as you) but sometimes we deserve to be treated!
Using the tesco’s vouchers is a great tip – I’m still trying to work out the best things to use my nectar points for…
Speak to you later hun!LBM - 17th November 2008 - better late than never

have looked at the a+l account but didnt get it as they wanted at least £500 in a month, but may just apply now if i can close it after 6 weeks!!! there is one for hsbc too for £20 cashback?? wonder if that can be done......December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22
Weight loss: 1.5lbs0 -
Theres a loophole with the Alliance + leicester account, technically you dont have to put the £500 in, with ours (mine, mums + dads) they gave us the 3 months grace where we only put a £1 in the account o keep it open.
or plan B - fund £500 - the loophole here, it doesnt need to be £500 from salary, so if you used £100, put in the bank, withdraw, back in, withdraw, u get the picture, therefore you have fullfilled the £500 going in.
HSBC £20 cashback if its a current account think wages have to go into that one. xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Afternoon ladies!!
Hope the world's looking good where you are?! I'm in a surprisingly perky mood today - COULD NOT be bothered coming to work today, but it's not been that painful since I got here!! I haven't even gone home for lunch to break the day up, and it's still flying by pretty quickly!!
Thanks Emms, this weekend looks as though it'll shape up to be a cheapie too! :T :j Cinema (again!!) on Friday night - we're really making the most of those cheap tickets we got - luckily there's loads on just now that I wanna see!! Then Saturday - there's 12 of us going to see Peter Powers (the Hypnotist), and the best bit? The tickets were 1/2 price! :T So since I'm taking the car (laying off the alcohol and hammering the gym in an attempt to break my inner beach bod free!!), I should manage Saturday night, without spending much more than a tenner! :j
I'm already down to £200 though, I took the plunge and bought the "Simple" version of my usual Clinique Toner and Moisturiser, which came in at less than £5 as opposed to the £30 I would've paid (thanks again Rags! ), and also bought a nightie to go in with mum's b/day pressie next week - she's been dropping some non-too subtle hints that that's what she's looking for!
It was only £5 though, so I think I'll have a look this weekend and see if I can get a housecoat to go with it, since she's hinting that she'd like one of them too (you know - just in case she ever has to go into hospital or whatever?!
)
I've also chipped in £15 for vouchers for the engagement party I have next week (although I haven't paid that yet!) - so that just leaves Valentines to sort out!
OH has agreed to let me pay for the meal (2 courses for £15 deal, + Drinks, so I'm reckoning £50 MAX!!) - so just need to get a wee pressie to give him on the day and I'll be sorted!! I'll worry about that over the weekend though!
Hope you're all having a good day!!

On that note - I haven't actually put any money in mine yet - not even £1! But I've now been paid by Quidco - you reckon I'm ok just to close it now?
I had planned on transferring £500 into it every month, then transferring it back again, until I'd been able to close it - not sure if that would've worked though?

I have really sensitive skin so have always been wary of changing products and had used the clinique since i was 15 (am 27 now...) but the simple one has been good for my skin, and am getting less breakouts now than when i was using clinique. The moisturiser has a slightly thicker texture but feels the same when on. hope you like it as much as me?!
which account has everyone opened on the a+l front, there are 4 to choose from!!!December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

Well – what a bizarre turn of events today has thrown up!?
My job – makes me feel brain dead, and I really, really struggle even getting out of bed to go to it most days. As I've mentioned I've got myself this part-time job in prep for going back to uni, which meant them asking my boss for a reference, he's given me one gladly, but been very apologetic about the fact I feel I need a second job to keep me afloat (I took a pay cut to come to this job, and the job I do is supposed to pay a fair bit of commission, but the industry has been hit quite hard by the credit crunch, so none of us are earning anywhere near what we would've been doing the same job even 2-3 years ago).
So anyway, he phones me this morning about a customer I've just brought on board, and mid-conversation, mentions that he's been discussing me with all of the big-wig bosses (people I've never met they're so far up in the company!!), and based on a lot of reports I've filled in combined with the work I've done over the last few years, they've decided they feel my talents are wasted in my current job, so he basically said, that provided I'm definitely sure that I want a future in the company, that they're currently working on creating a new position for me within the business, and he's asked how much money he'd need to pay me to keep me within the business long-term?!? (the part-time job seems to have put the frighteners on him, in that he's worried that if I don't start earning more within the next 6-12 months, that I'll go find something else which pays better!).
All very good and well you may think, but I then had to sit and give it all the chat about, well of course I really want to be here, and I'm totally committed to developing a long-term career here, bla, bla, bla......... all the while knowing, that actually, I'll be handing in my notice in a few months time, because I've already decided I'm going back to uni?!? aaarrrrgggghhhh!!! Now it might not come to anything – but talk about making a person feel guilty!!
I can't possibly tell him the truth, since I need the job 'til I start uni for the money, and they're making redundancies left right and centre at the mo, so I'm sure I'd be next on the list if I told him that – but how do I keep up the lie, knowing I'll be totally stabbing him in the back in a few months time?!
And to think – yesterday my biggest dilemma was whether I could justify having a Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream at the cinema tonight!
