Found a old fleece with a babyish pattern on it and a few old towels, should make a fair few double sided baby wipes. I had a quick scout around boots, £2 plus for a pack of wipes!

Got a newborn set of a vest, babygro, hat, gloves and a fleece snow suit for 99p, perfect for brining baby home in.

Just hope we dont have a big freeze again next year.

I like your style, Lauren. Although I admit that I'm not a Mum nor shall I ever be one I have looked after a few wee bairns in my time and I have no idea why a person would actually NEED those wipes. I know they smell quite pleasant but do they do anything fancy that a clean wash-cloth and some warm water wouldn't? I seem to remember once upon a time that a young un with nappy-rash found those wipes quite painful on a sore bot.

Does the little message at the foot of this page, which tells you the current time, get stuck while you are on this page/site? It stuck on 8.31pm for ages - it was really 8.47. Good job I wasn't timing any hobnobs by it, they'd only be fit to throw at the cat that keeps pooing in my flowerbed.

often and i have to keep refreshing the page.

My sympathies, I have plantar fasciitis and I know how it can hurt. It's basically inflammation so treat it gently (hope that's not falling fould of the no medical advice rule). The best thing I did was to buy some gel heel and arch supports from the foot health counter in Boots

Poundland sell 1.5 kg bags of sugar for £1 so it works out at 66p per kilo. That's the cheapest I've ever seen it
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

Smiley, my son has this and he spends a lot of time in absolute agony. He's a security guard and works 12 hour shifts, says he can hardly walk the ten minutes home after his shift. He gets painful steroid injections into his heels.
Primrose, my mum was in Ireland during the war and anyway she would never talk about it, so I dont know anything first hand. But I have read a lot of books. Helps you keep perspective eh .

I find they leave a residue, im a frequented festival goer and have had a baby wipe wash on many occasions and i felt rather icky al over and even worse in my nether regions.

I know it doesnt sound much but adding up the 2-4p per wipe certainly saving a packet.

even if i sew fleece squares on to a £1shop pack of 8 flannels,or maybe 2 packs, i have a days worth of reusable wipes for less than it cost to buy one pack of huggies wipes.

Might leave the towels for making booster pads, flannels seem a good size for wipes

I agree, B&T. Why on earth pay for a pack of things to just throw away ? Use a nice white muslin washcloth and put them in the wash with the nappies!

OOh smileyt how painful and frustrating, are you managing to brew up and raid the biscuit tin? Aw well just read through the site from A to B then you will be better, should keep you busy :T

Lauren_1 if we do have another freeze out just make sure you have lots of layers, you could sow together a peice of flannalette, then fleece and just tack it together round the edges if sowing isn't your thing, even an old pillowcase will make a base, that will keep baby snug until its old enough for quilts. And you can warm up the crib with a hot water bottle before you pop him/her in it - of course you have to take it out.

As for silly questions, my Dd is dyslexic and very blonde -she stood at the top of the Eiffel tower and said -'someone said you can see the Eiffel tower from here" :rotfl:

    As for silly questions.

I asked my daughter if some of the kids still went to Spin dancing classes after school.

Of course I meant Break dancing. :o

    I'm getting old.

    Thanks ginneyknit, i love sewing.

I honestly cant wait to get making things.

My OH thinks im a bit crazy but he doesn't have any idea how much a pack of nappies, wipes and a tin of formula cost. I would say about £30 a week is average?
