Good morning everyone

I'm don't post much because I can't commit to daily reading/catch up etc but I do, whenever possible, come right here to see how you all are and what you're all up to. I find it comforting that somewhere else in this island of ours that there are people who think like me, act like me, care like me.

I just really popped in to say I feel for those of you who are enduring some stuff at the moment. I'm always saying at work "there's this lady on MSE....." about something I've read (I think of you all as ladies so apologies to gentlemen). It's amazing how many times I can relate a story from here to something in my real world.

Good luck all

I told OH this morning he could only have a couple of roast potatoes with his Sunday roast - he muttered corner shop and I muttered money:rotfl:.
Need to use what we have.
If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
Spring begins on 21st March.

[ from charlies-aunt - <<<<HUGS>>>> to Pagangirl (aka Stuntwoman Extraordinaire)] couldn't do it again if I tried - you did make me laugh with that tho :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Managed to get thru weekend ok - keep your fingers crossed for the rest of the week !

Not sure if you'll be getting your washing dry outside, have you heard the bad weather forecast for this week

Sorry about the haircut from hell charlies-aunt - last time I had one of those it looked great from the front, the back was about an inch long coz she'd cut into it in one of those new trendy styles??? - I nearly died when she showed me in the mirror - her response was "I wasn't sure what you wanted (although I had already told her)
!!!!!! didn't she ask before cutting it if she wasn't sure:mad: it took 6 months to grow out - the funniest thing was a cartoon in local paper not long after the event - showed a woman saying "I know what you'r all thinking, it's too short isn't it" to a line of totally disinterested people in a bus queue. Wish I could show you - it was hysterical :rotfl:

I now go to a small old-fashioned hairdresser who does exactly what I ask for, and get a dry cut for £9. And a darn good job she does too :T

I had a really bad experience at the hairdressers last summer and wouldnt consider going anywhere near another hairdresser for ages. Finally built up the courage and booked a mobile hairdresser to visit the house a few weeks ago and she was brilliant, she cut my hair and my eldest too all for £16!!

Pagan girl maybe you need to buy one of those bubble things to roam about in!!:)

Hope your day was ok today Rummer :)

Why is it that most hairdressers only seem to have one option - Cut Short !! Every time I go I say "I don't want to end up looking like a shorn lamb, but often they still get carried away and trim it shorter than I like. Serves me right, I suppose, for going to the cheapie unisex barbers shop rather than the posh hairdresser further down the road where they charge you a second mortgage just for a wash and trim. It really annoys me that the posh hairdressers won't cut without a hairwash first (for which they charge of course) whereas the unisex hairdressers are happy to give you a damp trim by just spraying your hair with a demister bottle of water.

I once decided to go blonde, and specifically explained that 'brown with little blond flashes' was exactly what I didn't want. Guess what they gave me...

And if you want to know what Worthing hairdressers that was...
• I`m allergic to hairdressers, since a drastic perm at the tender age of 12 (at mother`s insistence but only once! I`m SO not a Curly person!) then growing up and being `sensible` about my phobia by age 18, having my then hip-length hair `trimmed`at a hairdressers and ending up so one plait was 2 inches shorter than the other! I have a trusted friend who trims my hair, and a neighbour`s daughter comes and helps me now I have to use a little colour, checks we`ve done the bits I can`t see/reach, and helps with the rinsing business. I`d rather add a tenner to her pocket money every month or so than submit to a hairdresser, I`d rather sit in the dentists` chair than a hairdressers`, honestly!

That's exactly what I always say re: the dentist vs. hairdresser's, Emm! To the extent I don't go even when I know I really need to...
• I am so lucky my SIL has her own mobile hairdressing business so I get my hair cut and coloured free because I fix her computer for free.........I soooooooo love the barter system and she does a lovely job everytime!
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
