Heartwarming news taplady well done! Good to hear that you are feeling better about things Lizzyshep remember there are always people here to discuss things with.

Sadly yesterday was far worse than expected and today is going to be tough to. Much as I hate to sound down I am finding everything really hard going. It is such a reassurance though to know that I have no-nonsense support and guidance here when I need it, you are all fabulous!

Thank you kidcat today will be really hard but hopefully something good will come out of it in the end. I keep thinking of the phrase "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" although it does seem a little harsh!

Its very true though, sometimes I look at stuff that I have gone through over recent years and realise that I would never have coped with it ten years ago.
I kind of look at all the really bad stuff as training and preparation - for the really awful stuff:)

I don't know.... we all seem to cope with horrible times as they happen - is just after it when you look back or when you seem somebody else going through it, then you wonder how they can do it. There's a really old Victorian saying tha I once saw on a sampler and it said "One is never given what one cannot bear" . That's probably true 75% of the time at least.

    [quote from charlies-aunt
I have been fed up at work and moved for a 'better' job - only to discover the same set of problems in the next job. It seems that whereever I 've worked, be it a huge government office or a small family firm, there has always been a liberal sprinkling of 'personalities' - the bully, the snob, Miss Sanctimonious and there is always someone who nearly breaks their neck to report the smallest misdemeanour to the manager! I try to be nice to everyone and not get drawn into office politics and gameplaying.] - sounds like you worked in the same places as me????

Have now got rid of bandage on hand, just need to keep changing the dressing myself now. Had another 'accident' yesterday - knelt down to get something out of bottom cupboard in kitchen, knee went again & to stop meself falling over - grabbed the 1st thing that came to hand which was the edge of top shelf - not agood idea :o as found out top shelf not anchored at the back, only at the front.. Shelf flipped up, crockery bounced off the floor, luckily only broke 1 mug and 2 bowls. :( (Think I must've broken a mirror somewheres)

Good news on the extra job taplady - dunno where you get your energy from !

Hi lizzyshep - lots of helpful people on here, they're a really friendly bunch.

Hugs to Rummer and all who need 'em
When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on
