Pagangirl sorry to hear that you have had another accident! Sending you good luck so that you remain in one piece for the rest of the week!

To everyone that wished me well thank you so much, your words were in my mind today. Things today went much better than expected and by Monday I should be on the path to making things much much better. Now I need to get focused on the house as I have let things fall by the wayside recently. Just going to make myself a giant coffee with vanilla and get going! Wish me luck!

    .......and everyone who needs a <<<HUG>>>today x x x
Pagangirl and Rummer - Hope you're over the worst of it and can look forward to having a nice weekend - looks like its going to be a sunny one for a change. :o Spring has sprung here - the daffs are out, last night we found a newt just out of hibernation on the path by the back door and tonight we saw a large toad too...hope he's not scoffed the little newt! Its so lovely that these fragile little creatures have survived the harsh winter to be able to enjoy another spring.
For myself, I'll be looking forward to getting my washing pegged out, getting the garden dug over for planting the spuds next weekend and keeping the heating turned off.....feeling very MSE.
Have not had a sparkling week , mainly because (slightly ashamed to admit this as its a vanity thing and not a genuine problem but here goes) the mobile hairdresser came last weekend and inflicted the haircut from hell on my barnet :( (Ladies - you know where I'm coming from here!) ... I had a wet cut but when she'd gone and I got the hairdryer out I found that I can't do a blessed thing with it and feel like a 60 year old nunty maiden auntie from a 1950's B movie...frumpy is not the word  . I've tried blow drying, straightening it, curling it- still look like a 60 year old hausfrau from a remore corner of the communist bloc...very demoralising. I know I need to go to a salon to get it sorted out properly so will be on triple strength budget for the next few weeks so I cobble the requisite cash together to pay for a restyle at a salon.

Never mind - worse things happen at sea!
    Have a good weekend everyone!!

  • Aw, charlies-aunt I do sympathise, I remember quite well getting the haircut from hell once which made me look even more like a madwoman than I do usually. Maybe a trip to the expensive salon can be put off? If your hair's pretty short you could try some gel to make it look all spiky and trendy instead

:rotfl:Bitterandtwisted- I usually have a classic shoulder length straight bob - nothing fancy but for reasons best known to herself, the hairdresser has put a lot of very short layers in all around the crown ,cropped my fringe down to 2 inches long and cut the sides about 3ins shorter than the back. She cut the layers in with a razor so its really hard to blowdry ...arr-g-g-g-h-h-hh-!!!! Its neither nowt nor summat!! :rotfl: If my age didn't stop me going out on the pull, the bl**dy haircut surely would !!l

Charlies-aunt that is absolutely priceless! I remember once I asked for some mahogany highlights in my very dark brown hair (on xmas eve) and sadly my hairdresser decided that bright orange would be better! My OH burst out laughing and asked why I had used irn- bru as the inspiration for my hair! The top was a very orange colour and underneath was brown, it was not a good look. The fact that she bleached it first meant that I had to walk about like that for weeks before I could get it fixed. Strangers pointed and laughed at me!

Oh I do sympathise with the hair styles ladies.

In my younger youth I think I went every colour and shade imaginable - seemed to go as blonde as i could get it then hit a goth phase and dyed it black with a blue tint - although what possessed me to do that a week before going to ibiza i have no idea as I came back with bleached ginger streaks.

Got home and decided that a new colour was in order so tried a henna kit with my hair stylist that should have been a deep brown but warned the longer it was left the more orange it would get, meant to be on for 15 minutes and she left me sat like a numpty for 45 - needless to say it looked like I'd been tango'd or had become a fraggle. Most unamused and it went back to black about 2 weeks later as I couldn't take looking in the mirror!

Thankfully now I'm au natural mousey/brown colour and its shoulder length which i trim myself. x
    Time to find me again

Charlies- Aunt - commkiserations on the haircut - hope it grows out quickly!;)

I get mine cut every month as its very short(and thick like a hedge:D) I dye it myself as I'm very grey like Mum who has a lovely head of white hair - just dont think at my age that I want to go there just yet(I'm 43)

    Good Morning Everyone :D

There is nothing I can do about things over the weekend so I am going to focus on relaxing and spending time with family. Yesterday I did quite a bit in the house and today I am going to continue that so that by Monday it should be sparkly clean.

I also need to get back into the kitchen and start getting cooking and baking again as I have fallen back into the easy food options, bread and cheese having been my staple diet for the last few weeks, occasionally punctuated with chocolate :o.

Anyway best stop chatting and start working :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:hope you have a lovely day:j

PS: Thank you all again for all your support :D

Why is it that most hairdressers only seem to have one option - Cut Short !! Every time I go I say "I don't want to end up looking like a shorn lamb, but often they still get carried away and trim it shorter than I like. Serves me right, I suppose, for going to the cheapie unisex barbers shop rather than the posh hairdresser further down the road where they charge you a second mortgage just for a wash and trim. It really annoys me that the posh hairdressers won't cut without a hairwash first (for which they charge of course) whereas the unisex hairdressers are happy to give you a damp trim by just spraying your hair with a demister bottle of water.
