I know, outrageous isn't it?? It was just a warburtons brown sliced loaf - i'd been too busy to bake any this week and it was a choice of that or warburtons white. Really need to get to a bigger town for a big shop - we're an hour and a quarter away from our nearest tesco and I really notice in my budget when I have to use the co-op.
  • Sod that, I think I'd rather do without.
  • Pitlane I'm more of a lurker, but I wanted to let you know that I'm thinking of your puppy. My youngest dog is called Lola too. (Oldest is called Inca. Why do I feel the need to be equal with my mutts -mention one so I need to mention the other, its not like they will read this thread and get jealous!:rotfl:)

    Hope its good news x x x
Right now I'm having amnesia and deja- vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before

Piglet - (((hugs))) for Lola the pup x

I have had 2 bits of good news this week which I thought I'd share with you:j
first our rent this year is actually going down:eek::D yes I couldn't believe it so I rang to check and its gone down by about £2 a week.:T
secondly - My Mum is buying my sisters car(Mum and Sis are both getting new cars)and giving it to me:j:D its a lovely little Saxo which will be so much cheaper to run than my tank of a Honda - Big Bertha, although I shall miss the old girl as I'm very fond of her:D
Hopefully things are now looking up a bit for us at last!
    Do what you love :happyhear

I have a tank of a Honda too & am hoping to change it for a smaller one this year. It's going to cost me a fortune next week if the rail strike goes ahead, I have to drive hubby to work & back, 84 miles a day, eeek. Not sure what we'll do if the strikes last months as hinted at in the papers, I can do it next week as I don't have to be at work til 9, but can't do it when I have to be at work a 7.

Well I am really fed up I did 112 hours overtime last year and asked that they pay it in one go so it only affects one months housing benefit etc which they have so after tax finally got £583 - housing benefit/council tax repay £468 - now working tax credit want £100 back so for 112 hours overtime earnt the grand sum of £15!! - I was upfront to all the benefit people as I have no choice in doing this overtime (covering for sickness) and just thought I would get something out of it maybe to put up for xmas etc!! so not very happy today :-(( but hay hoo these things happen I guess - I've got a roof over my head, food in the cupboard what more could a girl want!!! Well ok...tall dark handsome man, lottery.....!!!
2010 has got to be better than the last two years!! :rotfl:

Weight loss to date: 3 Stone & 5lbs!! Weight loss this week: 2 lbs !!:j

Geniusscuffy you must be really fed up with that one, Ive done the same in the past with overtime.

Ive had a b@%^& of a week, no pc, credit card company conned us out of an extra payment, Bt tried to put the bill up by 40 quid and took it out of the bank and someone scratched the car. BUT I am not defeated and obviously pc has been stuck together with gaffer tape, Hubby survived the stress - always makes him poorly due to the state of his health and meds etc. Oh and someone at the DSS declared him fit for work and stopped our benefits!!! now that did floor him till I told him it was an error, which it was and it was all reinstated on Monday with much embarrassment from them. No apology of course for the insane weekend I suffered with hubby but I had the satisfaction of asking loudly in the job centre ' so you can cancel his six month sick note can you, for no reason?' there was a lot of spluttering and staring at their computer screen! Maybe someone needs a keyboard skills lesson there! Thank god I can laugh now, if a little hysterically :rotfl:

and to everyone who needs one!
Its been a long, tough winter and just when the spring sunshine had lulled us into a false sense of security - the snow, wind and cold are back to bite us on the bum. Eeehh! I don't know - just when you think its safe to turn the heating off. . . .
still its a good excuse to get the slow cooker out for a hearty casseriole. No snow here but frost, icy rain and biting winds have made everything very chilly.
Just managed to pay the final installment on the vet bill this month :T but vaccinations are due soon for cat, dog and horse so I'll have to put off booking that luxury cruise to the Bahamas for a little while longer
Have had a liitle splurge and bought a set of 6 Wash'n'save laundry balls from Aldi today - they had been reduced from £5.99 to £3.99. Hope to recoup the spending in savings in wash powder. I already use Poundland dryer balls which do the work of fabric condition sheets in the drier so I am hoping for great things :)
No work tomorrow - will be enjoying a bit of a lie-in

That certainly was the week that was Ginnyknit!

Government departments are a nightmare to deal with but its the 'Decsion Makers' at your Benefit Delivery Centre who will have messed round with your oh benefit and the Jobcentre staff have to take the flak for their dodgy decision :( I suspect that they were in silent agreement with you but it would be more than their jobs are worth to openly agree.
