Sarah, just wanted to add that 14 years ago we had a cairn terrior he was our baby he slept with us and came everywhere with us. when i gave birth to my son the dog was sooo jealouse and started to growl and show his teeth to him. We knew what we had to do. It was the hardest decision we ever had to make but we had to put our baby first. Never once have we regretted that decision, we found him a good home and he only recently went to doggie heaven. The funny thing is now when our son starts being cheeky we always say 'we should have kept the dog and rehomed you'
Wishing you and your family lots of love
SharronSometimes your the dog, and sometimes your the lampost..:p0 -
Hi Sharron, thanks for your post. It is a shame alot of dogs do tend to get jealous and obviously for babys safety have to find new homes - this was infact the case with my mums GSD X when i was little. She found him a lovely home and had contact with them for many years until they moved down south.

Just had a good natter with my best friend who has been away in Isle of man for 6 weeks and she thinks we are doing the right thing aswell. Its great that i have such support and my mum and dad are great for letting me, OH and little one into their home - i am already really really grateful - (suppose we'll return the favour when they are old and grey lol)
Trying to be positive and enjoy christmas this year - i havent even got a tree upthink i might as well freecycle it - albeit a bit late.
Dropping of xmas presents tomorrow so hoping i will feel much more christmassy after that.

Sarah, it's not too late to freecycle your Christmas tree - one came up on one of my local groups today and was taken within minutes!

Speaking to a German Shepherd rescue re my 2 shepherds. The guy says he has a family looking for a young !!!!! (mine is 18months) and hopefully they will pass the homecheck and be suitable and Mollie will be what they are after and she will get a loving home *fingers crossed*
I think my old girly is going to be the hardest to rehome she is about 10-12yrs and suffers incontenence, poor wee soul. I hope there is someone out there for her

Happytails - like others have said - it will be hard to rehome your dogs - I am dog mad, so can sympathise with you, but you are doing the best thing. Am really pleased you, OH and bump will be able to stay together. Congratulations mum & dad.:T
A word of caution for anyone shopping at Mr T's - the last 3 times I have bought reduced goods there, they have gone through the till at full price - only found out by checking receipts before I left the shop - which isn't something I normally do - it is now! Customer services have refunded the difference each time - just to let you know - if you don't normally check the bill - you need to start NOW !

We did that for two years happytails (by the end of which time we had three babies/toddlers living in the bedroom with us). It worked for us and I found the grocery money went further too, since the more people there are the cheaper per head it is to feed them.
EDIT: Reading the rest of the thread I see you've made the decision. Best of luck to all three of you. It will be hard to part with the dogs (specially the old one who's been with you so long) but it's for the best (and you'll be amazed how much you save when you don't have to feed three big dogs too).Time flies like an arrow.

your early-warning barometer is speaking again:
look everyone, things have changed again in the financial market and the mood is going backwards again. The feeling of recovery only lasted a little while so my advice now is to hunker down as much as you can. I definitely don`t want to spoil the good mood on here but please please be extra careful re every penny. I am going to ignore the sales for a start as i have all that I need

Sarah
Hi Sarah, hope you are all well. Have just been catching up with posts, whew I thought I could natter, have only been away from computer for two days [finishing my knitting] anyway to get back on track. This is a long shot but would your Oh's dad possibly foster your old girly. I too am a doggy person [my old girl is lying next to me as I type]. Its only that when you were both going to live with parents you mentioned that himself and one doggy would be bunking down with his dad.0 -
