your early-warning barometer is speaking again:
look everyone, things have changed again in the financial market and the mood is going backwards again. The feeling of recovery only lasted a little while so my advice now is to hunker down as much as you can. I definitely don`t want to spoil the good mood on here but please please be extra careful re every penny. I am going to ignore the sales for a start as i have all that I need

As always the voice of reason Kittie :T
I read on *think it was* Foxnews about the americans seeking another huge bailout sum and its the first of TWO they will be looking for...
Will mtry to find the link.
Think it's going to be a harsh year 2009 for a lot of us. I thank God we found MSE when we did so we'll at least be debt free but now getting worried for DS1 who leaves school in May and even OH who as a postie I 'thought' had a reasonably secure job!0 -
Mr Grump and I don't get double the difference
and we can't make a fuss because we're so well-known (that sounds terrible - I just meant many of the staff used to work with me in the other supermarket, before Mr T was built)

This is a long shot but would your Oh's dad possibly foster your old girly. I too am a doggy person [my old girl is lying next to me as I type]. Its only that when you were both going to live with parents you mentioned that himself and one doggy would be bunking down with his dad.
Im in the hopes we can do this as a last resort. Our old girl is incontenent and i dont think his dad will be too appreciative of it and they have 2 young cavaliers who would drive my girly up the wall bugging her 24/7 - so it would be a last resort (instead of having to take her to RSPCA or similar. Her incontenence makes it harder to rehome her aswell which is such a shame.
I really dont know what to do. I think my young dogs will be fine re getting new homes - One has a home ready and will be going Boxing day. The other, we have to get an assessment done by a rescue im working with to sort out a home but they think they have the perfect family for her. so fingers crossed for that.
It is a really hard thing to do, i love my dogs more than anything so hoping they will be happy.

Not coping very well today I am afraid.. well tonight rather.. flatmate came in drunk AGAIN and is an absolute nightmare in a one room flat where the only place to go to avoid him is lock myself in the loo. Plus as I was getting some bits together for presents I find he has helped himself to the new small food saver box I bought to house part of someone else's Christmas present HM by me. He used it and has not brought it back, claims drunkenly that it was his and now I face the prospect of having to buy another one on no income AND queue on Xmas Eve with the INSANITY of that. Sorry using stuff without asking the day I bought it when it STILL had the label on and not bringing it back is theft and I am both angry and crying cos that gift was for a friend I had not seen in over 7 months. What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0

Reverbe, sorry to hear what a horrible thing you're flatmate's done, he's so out of order. :grouphug: Can you talk to him about it when he's sober? He should pay you for it and apologise!... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Agree with Rosieben on that one.
I'd say a good resolution for the New Year would be to review the relationship with your flatmate. I guess from your comments about it being a one room flat (presumably one bedroom?) on the one hand and no income coming in (ie you're not getting benefit having lost that job of yours so abruptly recently) that hes a live-in boyfriend and not a flatmate? I'm a bit confused here on this. I'm just thinking that - he doesnt sound like a very good idea for a boyfriend(?)...errr....but then you can forgive me for my presumption on that....some of the boyfriends I had earlier in my life left a bit to be desired:cool:

I have been dropping in quite regularly recently and boy have I learnt a lot. Just wanted to thank everyone for their help and wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Here's hoping it is not all doom and gloom in the forthcoming year. Even if it is bad I am sure we can get through it all together.0

I am still waiting to hear about benefit after losing my job the first week of December as apparently Belfast cannot be arsed to actually process my claim. They have only had it a month after all. It is a 10 min decision - yes or no on the claim and then agree on an amount. Last time i tried to sign on they told me I had too much savings and wanted me to spend it on living expenses. I told them that as I would not be getting a pension (this was told to me by Govt advisors a few years ago) that this meagre savings of £6000 was for my old age.Not that it would last about 6 months by the time it comes about. What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0
