I should be banned from Boots, it's so addictive and I can't help myself. In fact, I'm gonna handcuff myself to my bed so I can't go BOOTSing again. ;););)
Mimi dear, it's more fun if someone else puts the cuffs on. :)

    snipped......

lol, so does this mean when mr B (boots not brown!) cuts vat by 2.5% I'm going to have to spend an extra 1.25p (maths , not my strong point) before I will earn my 1000 points on any boots bonus points events? or will this drop in vat perhaps get lost somewhere , can you imagine the confusion with SA's running around changing sels, and what will it do to .com:eek:. No look on the bright side - it might cause a till melt down and uncover a load of brilliant glitches!
and yes, a knighthood for Sir Mimi of Poutingshire!
In April 1991, when VAT was raised from 15% to 17.5%, the increase was at first noticeably exact on lots of goods (for example a 9.99 video increased to 10.22) and then prices were raised and rounded (the video then increased to 10.99 for instance).

Unless shops do a separate "VAT rebate" credit at the bottom of your bill, I doubt you'll notice any difference and on small items I imagine the shops will absorb alot of the reduction.

  • Just incase anyone shops at the Boots in Wolverhampton....there are loads of JK nail files!

and Nivea DNAge wrinkle cream on clearence, can use your bluey to get it for free!
  • Had a lovely trip to Manchester yesterday and an overnight stay in a posh hotel. Went to see Will Young and he was outstanding!!

Anyhow.......back on topic. Am in love with Manchester Arndale Boots - SS tills and BIG! Yay! Got some razors to keep DH quiet for about 2 years. They had at least 30 or so dotted around various locations in store.

Bought some Gorgeous Feet Overnight Rescue Moisturiser & Socks - reduced from £6.49 to £2.99 on the regular shelves (in health section with other foot stuff). Not saving of the century, but just used it (even filled the foot spa lol!) and the cream smells delicious! Reminds me a bit of S&G product smells. Am now sat here catching up on Celebrity looking a wee bit gorgeous in my white socks! :rotfl:Wish I had bought more now as would be great to add to some of my hampers. Feel a trip to my local coming on.........!

Sorry no pic - its being discontinued. Its in a rather boring dark face cream sized box with a photo of feet on it.

Have to say, a manic pre-Xmas Boots sale, coupled with all the hassle of normal pre-Xmas shopping, will be a challenge even to professional Bootsers. ;)

I'm up for it! I've done 99% of my Christmas shopping. I'm bored.....:D

well snipped...1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed

1 forum lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now and start it all over again

I am SO pleased that you posted this geordie_lass. Every time I see a squabble break out I think of this/your post, it's so very apt.
Speaking as one who is not perfect, I find it difficult when others who are not perfect themselves criticise op who are not perfect either.

I am not in the least bit religious but the phrase "let he who is without sin, cast the first stone" sounds very fitting, or perhaps pot - kettle - black, or maybe "Too many Leaders and not enough foot soldiers.. But your post is miles better :T :T

The more this board changes the more it stays the same. :rotfl: :rotfl: I am sure you will be posting it for the next 20 years.
I would also like ask the regulars who made this board the great board it is, to please keep posting.
I for one miss you (And so do many others as they have told me/others)
and you all know you are.

Reductions I found in Boots - were No7 Time Resisting range and some of the Hydro Quench range. It looks like Boots may be discontinuing it.

Keep a look out for it girls and stock up. The GWP goes through with it as well, which makes it even better value. Reductions are 50% and/or 75% so well worth seeking them out. Good luck and I hope you find some.
