  • Hi Emily,

First time I have posted on your thread but I read it all the time and mentally cheer you on! I agree with the other posters that your priority must be your health - you must listen to and work with your body (yes I am a bit nouveau hippy!) and give it what it needs when it needs it otherwise you can get to a point where you are running on empty and it is so hard to get recharged then (mixing metaphors here! lol!) What I mean to say is that it is probably more efficient to rest when you need it rather than leave it too long.

    Big hugs

    Hi Emily

So sorry you're feeling poorly at the moment. I'm sending you big, virtual hugs and hope you feel better soon. I agree with everything everyone else has said, your health comes first. You have achieved an enormous amount this year and if you never paid a debt of the rest of the year you'd be able to hold your head high and be proud of the amount you have paid off. Don't forget that you have to be able to enjoy life a bit, though and you can't do that when you're ill. This hot weather, whilst it is great doesn't help your breathing, I guess. I've got asthma and it's certainly not helping mine. I'm thinking of getting another little job........as the voice over for Thomas the Tank Engine!!! I think Snaggles has had a brilliant thought, using your extra day to do the AQA and stuff. You have inspired so many people through this thread and all of us would love to see you enjoy the benefits of the last few months and put yourself first.

    Please take care

Thanks for all of your messages everyone.

I'm going to speak to my boss and the girl that I work with today to discuss this with them. Unfortunately I don't think it will be possible to put my hours back up again after I have dropped them again. I dropped them in November last year but I then put them back up to help my mum out after my dad died. Now she is back on her feet again. My work have been very understanding and I wouldn't want to muck them around even more. When I have cleared some more debts I would even like to drop them down to 3 days a week.

If I do AQA, mystery shopping and my competitions whilst I am off then I could easily make the money up so I think I will definitely do it. I was going to continue working through the whole of August to help my colleague out (we are getting a new team member in September) but I just feel so awful this morning that I don't know if I can hold out that long!

I'll let you know how I get on.

    Take care everyone

    Hi everyone

Now I know why I have been feeling so crappy recently, I have got a chest infection. I'm on antibiotics the size of bullets and I'm off sick for the rest of the week. Hopefully it will clear up as I don't want to go on the dreaded IVs again!!

I have decided through August that I am going to take a step back from my debt-clearing. I think I need a break from constantly thinking about it. I'll still carry on with my AQA, competitions, mystery shopping etc but I don't want to run myself into the ground especially when I'm not well.

Therefore August is my month off. Don't worry, I'm not going to go out on a spending spree and undo all my hard work or anything like that and if I get a windfall from a competition or something then I will clear some more debts but I'm just going to take it easy.

From September I will be back with a vengence ready to clear some more debts!!

    Take care

My girlfriend has got an infection too. unfortunately she's back on IV'S so she's feeling very down at the moment. According to her she might have to back to Southampton Hospital for an op on the device that the IV needle goes in (Cant think of the name) She doesnt want to go there because last time some clown tried to inject fat into there instead of the IV  .

Hope you feel better very soon and good luck with your AGA and competitions and especialy good luck with debt clearing.

Your poor girlfriend, she does seem to get it bad. The device thing is called a Port (I think that's what you mean). Has she already got one fitted or are they going to fit one for her? If she has one then she won't need to have pique lines fitted everytime she needs IVs which is probably better for her in the long run.

I know how she feels about the IVs. When I had one fitted by a nurse once she wasn't putting the line into my vein but up my arm meaning that I could feel everything, it was the most painful thing ever and now I insist on having my IV lines fitted by a doctor with an X-ray machine so they can see where the line is going!!

Give your girlfriend my best wishes, I hope she is on the up again soon.

She has got the port fitted and when she does need the IV's the needle goes into the port. ( i think i should really ask her ) but i know she has some tubes that run across her neck from the port.

Eugh it annoys me when nurses who you trust end up doing things wrong, i know everyone makes mistakes but in that job a mistake can be fatal, as i think a one of the tubes connected to the port runs into her heart (is that right?) and that was the one she tried to inject fat into we all probably know what would have happened next. it would have been very strange for a very thin girl to have a heart attack or to be clogged up with fat .

    Hi Emily

Sorry you're not well. Hope you're feeling better soon so you actually enjoy some time feeling well without worrying about your debts. You deserve to treat yourself - I don't mean by going out splurging money or anything (although you do deserve that), I mean by having some time to actually enjoy the warm weather and to do something you enjoy without the weight of clearing another debt on your shoulders. Knowing you (and I feel like I do) when September comes those £££££££'s won't know what's hit them!!!!!!!

    Anyway, take care

Hope you feel tons better real soon. Have a good rest, relax and LOOK AFTER YOURSELF.
