The fact that the proprietor of this forum has shown poor judgement in permitting you to promote this foul scheme doesn't mitigate what you are doing. As others have said, what you are doing is corrupting and will attract children whatever you say about "over 18 only". The fact that your "pm box has remained full" means nothing other than that there are clearly quite a few people who are curious about the information you are offering about entering the sex industry.

As someone who was (and is) intrigued and interested in this idea as a source of income, I can now see Dustangle's point. I don't object to the posting of this thread at all Mandi, as this forum is for everyone of all tastes and views, so this thread has as much right to be here as any other thread.

My idea is that there should perhaps be a sub forum for over 18s jobs that is separate from this more mainstream forum that anyone of any age can read, click links or find information on sex chat lines and other adult professions.

There is nothing wrong with any of these professions of course, but they are 'over 18s only' for a reason, so perhaps an over 18s only protected sub forum is the answer for us more broad minded moneymakers?

Ok my troll alarm bells are now ringing because you have continued to ignore my question about the 'saucy new job' thread and have continued to over-exaggerate in trying to claim this idea will attract children.

I will pose the question one more time. How is this idea any more objectionable than the 'saucy new job' thread?. That thread, as I have said, promotes actual work in the sex industry. This thread offers an idea for a computer simulation. It is not the sex industry. It never was the sex industry.

I would also give my support to an over-18's sub-forum but as a bare minimum, it would need credit card details to register because at the moment that really is one of the few ways, if not the only way, to verify that the age of the applicant is over 18 - end even then is no guarantee due to under 18's 'obtaining' the credit card details of parents or family members.

I wasn't actually referring to you regarding the above post.

It's not up to me or mandi to verify the ages of people on this forum - that is the responsibility of the people who run this forum. By the same token, it is the responsibility of second life to ensure that it's members comply with age restrictions.

that is why second life have a teen-only grid for a start, and why they take an active role in seeking out and removing underage members of the main, adult grid.

no system is foolproof though - kids are a lot more savvy technically nowadays and, as i'm sure you're aware as a parent, if you tell a child they can't have something or are 'banned' from seeing something, then they'll just want to see it even more.

i can completely understand where you are coming from as a parent, even though I personally don't have, and will never have, kids. I would not want my two young nephews, aged 3 and 4 respectively to grow up and be exposed to violence, pornography or anything else that could potentially affect them.

but i would not impose any knee-jerk censorship because they might see something inappropriate and I know full well their father, who shares the same views as I do, would be the same.

I don't really know why i'm getting involved in this thread but I can see nothing wrong with this thread at all.

Firstly, under 18's could easily find out about this (and a million and one worse things) elsewhere on the internet. Secondly, i'd be surprised if many people under 18 came on this board anyway.

One more quick point, do you have to be over 18 to "play" second life?
