unfortunately, due to the nature of the internet and the idiocy of many parents, many under 18's are exposed to inappropriate material. i don't condone it and i certainly wouldn't encourage it but it happens.

would you have the same disdain for the people who participate in the 'saucy new job' thread with regards to sex chat lines ?.

or is your disdain just for anything of an adult nature ?

I do care that someone is using this forum to try to recruit people to the sex industry. That isn't harmless "adult" fun, it's pimping. And I am keen to draw to people's attention the hypocrisy of the original poster saying "Over 18s only" where the proposition on offer is probably quite attractive to children who might be reading her/his/its offer.

You just had to over-egg it didn't you?. By "child", can I assume you mean under 18 ?. As i've said, it's a fact of life that under 18's use and access material online that isn't age appropriate. That's for the parents to deal with. Mandi, or anyone else, has every right to post a thread such as this and does not have to play parent.

There is nothing "on offer" in this thread. I myself have made it quite clear that all mandi was doing was suggesting a possible source of income in second life. There is no job on offer or no invitation to work with, or for, mandi or anyone else.

Just as any user has every right to object to a thread on MSE as I have to abuse as the mother of a soon to be 18 year old who very much objects to the thought of my daughter reading this as being validated by MSE.

you are perfectly entitled to object to this, or any other, thread of course, but I fail to see how this thread can be judged any worse than the 'saucy new job' thread that, as i have repeatedly said, promotes and advocates actual work in the sex industry, whereas this thread merely offers an idea.
