Everyone knew that this was a pricing error, myself included, so why try and hunt Apple down ? They made a simple pricing mistake and are trying to get out of it in a way that won't cost them a fortune.
I'm all for bargains, and use this site along with others every day, but come-on - a Digital SLR for 99 pounds ... discontinued model or not, thats a "mis-price" if ever I saw one.
Mark.
Not a misprice, where did you get that from? Apple states that they can't complete due to lack of availability, not a misprice.0 -
if not, what price did you pay for it?30th June 2021 completely debt free…. Downsized, reduced working hours and living the dream.0

I paid the discounted price of £98.70 which includes the education store discount of £425.79 according to my confirmation email. I am not quite sure why people are fixated with this being a misprice, Apple themselves state they are not completing the sales due to lack of availability, as I said before.
Edit: You weren't aiming that at me were you?! Whoops! Sorry, I won't delete though since it may help people understand the issue at hand.0 -
It was obviously a misprice, and most likely an incorrect percentage reduction entered by a human operator. The problem is that it all happened at the wrong time of year for Apple, when they were most likely very short on staff. They were simply not prepared to deal with the volume of orders in that timeframe with that staff level. They were also clearly not sure what to do about the aftermath which was evident from the completely inconsistent response to customers about it.0

Obviously a misprice in whose opinion? Yours? Well it is possible yet the only OFFICIAL response from Apple is that they have no availability of the E-1, not that it was a misprice, for the 3rd time.
Unfortunately neither my opinion nor your opinion matters in this case but the official response from Apple on the 3rd.0 -
hi everyone ... this will be my last post on this issue ....at least until I get a response from apple....
cheers everyone0 -

That was the only response that they could have given that would justify them cancelling the order based on their own T&C. It will also be the only response they will give aslong as people persist in taking legal action.
Please don't forget about the early phone calls to customer services, where call centre supervisors was quoted as stating in a panic that that it was a missprice and that orders would be cancelled.
This is my last comment on this matter, I consider it closed. :money:0 -

On the invoice it stated that there was a discount of €670.
Also this offer was made available to both U.K. and Irish students.
Finally Apple themselves have not stated that it was a misprice but a stock issue.
Not so obvious in my mindcomments offered by myself do not constitute (nor do they replace) professional legal advice.0 -

As I have stated earlier exemptionary clauses don't apply when a misrepresentation has been made (either price or stock). So clause 2.6 doesn't affect students who purchased the camera. (in my understanding)comments offered by myself do not constitute (nor do they replace) professional legal advice.0 -

One more post... haha
Was an automated invoice based on an incorrect discount rate.
I would suspect the UK and the Irish micro-sites share the same product database, but with simple price conversions.
Good luck everyone.0
