    I've given in slightly,

I am breaking the coffee habit. I am not drinking it. but I have bought a bottle of diet coke to sip on to take away my headache a bit.

    this is torture.

when do I start feeling all cleansed and healthy?!

Anything from a week to a fortnight

Oh, and is it normal to get stomach pains from the withdrawl?

Afraid so! If you drank a lot of coffee then yes the headaches will be evil and yes you can get stomach pains - drink plenty of water and allowing yourself a diet coke every two days would be fine - then cut it down to every three and so on

Basically I feel like I'm starting from scratch today. As wrong as it sounds a bar of chocolate took my headache away but I'm not bringing my purse with me tomorrow so won't have that crutch.

I have a 2litre bottle of water beside me that I am trying to drink whenever I remember with the aim of getting through a whole bottle throughout the day. If I can sort out the liquids then I'll start on the food (tomorrow?!) I feel a b!tch of a mood coming on.

    detox is good, yeah?!

...hate to be the one that brings the tone down....but that 2ltr bottle of water will flush everything through. Don't stray too far from the loo :o It sometimes takes the body a little while to get used to a lot of water and it seems to pass through almost straight away :o sorry.....

Ah yes I forgot to mention that bit! Oh and if you can stand the taste drinking dandelion tea helps "flush" the system as well.

Oh, what wonderful bringers of joy you both are...

I want to quit now. None of this is seeming nice.

Hell hath no fury like a recovering coffee addict.

I am snippy, hungry all the time, tired, spaced out, peeing for scotland, my head is pounding and I'm generally feeling rubbish.

I just want to eat! I thought these were meant to all be nicotine withdrawl symptoms not caffeine.

    I can't concentrate on anythign

I am working on a phase out. no coffee since Friday, no caffeine at all since yesterday lunchtime. I am also cutting out chocolate and crisps too (at some point)

I never used to be a big chocolate eater but it has gotten out of hand.

I am going to buy a packet of crisps with my lunch. am I rambling??

Detox tea rules all by the way.

    I need help!!

I love your diary KT, but I'm feeling so sorry for you right now!

I never started drinking tea or coffee as I saw so many people trying to quit them, but I'm probably completely dependant on sugar as I get through about 5 cups of hot elderflower cordial a day as well as several glasses of fruit juice, yoghurts, and a chunk of chocolate too!

Stick with it KT, you don't want to go through this again, keep drinking the water to flood out the toxins that are making you feel rough
