Thanks Valli...castle cake isn't a bad idea. Could make swiss rolls for towers. Don't think it'll look half as good as that one but I'm up for trying. Will let you know how I go on. Might start baking and freeze the cakes from tomorrow.
Just when I get this one out of the way I'll have to start planning for DD2's. She's 2 on 23 December. Probably put myself under too much pressure but my mum always made lovely cakes for us when we were kids so because I can I always feel I should too. SIL suggested last year that I buy a cake and ice it myself but that's just not an option! (I'm so stubborn)!
I can come and test cake. I like cake. Cardiff does too.
Aww bless..my grandad's birthday was 23rd Dec.
Just a guess - does SIL not make birthday cakes then? Sounds like green eyed monster behaviour that. I can still remember a cake made especially for my 13th birthday... (especially made for me, ordered by my mum from someone she knew) I felt VERY special. It was designed to look like a record (pre CD days and had the names of my favourites iced on and I am NOT saying WHO cos you'll all be counting on your fingers...)
If I EVER tie the knot again I'm having a cake in the shape of a '3' then I don't lose track:rotfl:

I'm in this week. Hopefully I'll get more done this week than last - I think I had some kind of bug which gave me a weird vertigo-type head, headaches and jippy tummy, but the effects are less each day. It's already after 10 and I'm still awake, which is progress!
Re Antiques Roadshow - I'm going to have to watch it on i-player now. I don't usually watch it, but I'm all intrigued about this mystery object! :rotfl:0 -
I'm in too - week 2 as a flylady :j
Vivw hugs to you
You lot are marvels - what a difference a week makes - my dirty washing basket is empty and my NEW ironing basket only half full
Flyladies Rule :T
Next week - to get the dusting and hoovering under control
Feeling slightly better again - see you all tomorrow :grouphug:0 -
I'm in again, after a fashion
All the best to your son vivw
I'll probably do the kitchen, as I normally do on Mondays. Can't get out of the "old" routine. Still, as long as I do something!0 -

Could be....I loved getting homemade birthday cakes when I was little. One of my favourites was a roller skate. Not the most arty one my mum made but I loved it because roller skating was my favourite thing at the time. Want to create those kind of memories for my kids too.
I'll post a picture when I've done it.0 -
be still my beating heart.
Fine and dandy. How are you hun?
They are long shifts. What do you do? Though I have a feeling you might have told us that already.
