Lil me glad things seem to have sorted them selves out, the LL has to give you notice of 2 months and as your deposit seems not to be in a scheme, that does not apply, she will have a big job to get you out if she wants to. Personally I wouldn't go spending any more money on the place, just keep it clean and tidy.
I have eaten dinner the first full meal for a week, soapie you hang on in there.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Hi guys
I really don't know where the weekend has gone.
Yesterday we discovered a tile had slipped off the house roof and made a hole in what we call the side shed roof - it is a long covered walkway where we keep bikes/garden stuff etc. Going to ring house insurance to tomorrow and see what they say - roof tile needs replacing and roof on side shed too - which is old so better to replace than repair.
OH up at A&E with DS1 at the moment who has hurt his big toe really badly. Decided OH could take him now rather than leave it a day and me waste tomorrow up there.
JJef - congrats on baby Ruby I hope she has a wonderfully happy and healthy time here
Boddy hugs for you and your family on your sad loss
Lil_me glad you have no immediate threat of moving but I know you well enough that you will not rest now and will continue to look - good luck
Soappie glad you are feeling better and thanks for posting your chicken soup receipe last week, I made it today and it was lovely - can you tell me if you can put pearl barley in and if so do you just toss it in?
Johanne hugs hun, I'll offer you no wise words as I know you will make the right decision for you when the time is right for you to do so.
Toots, Serena, SS, Hex hi to all of you
Pooh hope you are feeling a bit better today
AnW'sMum congrats to A on her swimming silver award
Pigpen I hope you survived the party and same for you Triker
So behind with the flying that I'm giving up until Monday.
Did do the bathroom today as I finally found some new bathmats (floor not in the bath ones) yesterday which were on offer and I really liked.
Sorry if I've missed anyone, I only skimmed the thread and wondered why I had lost my thanks button then went to post and realised I wasn't logged in.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Afternoon!
I've been a busy bee but am having a rest again and DS has just made me a coffee.
I made rolls for lunch, hobnobs and scones.
Nipped out for milk and bread flour. I usually get mine in Lidl's 48p - anyone know anywhere cheaper/bigger bags etc?
After lunch DH has been busy drilling and filling, so I emptied the bookshelves in the old study. DS and DH brought them down and put them in the den and fixed them to the wall. In a bit, DS is going to help me move the books downstairs and back on the shelves.
I think DH has been kidnapped by aliens! He said he's going to start artexing the lounge ceiling tomorrow night! :T He seems determined the study/dining room/lounge will be done before Christmas.DMP mutual support thread No: 433 - Mortgage - £54,556, Credit cards - £4012, Unsecured loan - £3,376, Other - £419

Lil_me - glad things are a bit more positive today, but I agree with whoever (sorry) said not to spend too much on the house. It would be such a negative investment. I have to say I admire your budgeting/money handling skills and will be seriously looking at our finances over the coming weeks so that next year things really will start to improve.DMP mutual support thread No: 433 - Mortgage - £54,556, Credit cards - £4012, Unsecured loan - £3,376, Other - £419

Dusty hope your DS1 is ok. I have also drawn a line through last week
hope the insurance will sort the roof x 2 problem. You know me too well
I just emailed another estate agent, kept in touch with 2 from when we moved here just to keep interest there as they then are good to you, call you before something you might like is advertised etc. I expect my phone will be ringing non stop on Monday as they are desperate for tenants at the mo. New bath mats
I have a thing about those, I gave away 3 sets this year, stupidest I ever bought was white but I love them and still use them. They get yellow polka dots and foot shapes on them, I put them down when we are expecting visitors or when I know the boys won't be in much, I've seen me put them down for an evening and take them back up on the morning :rotfl: .
PF and Kaz, think you might be right, I think spending too much would be silly. I've already got the paint to redecorate, I want to do that before xmas, however ambitious that might seem I want at least all the doors and the LR doing. Will see how much carpet would be then decide. I wonder if the carpet that's down would fit in the loft so I don't have to put up with it and can put it back down if we move, taking the new one with me :rotfl: (I have probably had a fluke that I used stair/hall/landing carpet in 3 houses in a row because they got smaller) Decided what I will do is get the quote, have a go at it with the vax then the steamer (because the professional company were not very good) see what it comes up like. I had big plans for the garden but think I might put those on hold and see what the next 6-12 month brings. She does seems sincere but if it becomes a need all of that will likely go out of the window.
PF a DH who can artex, you are blessed! Hope he sticks to it. Seems like he's had a rocket up you know where :rotfl: I have only had a better offer from a mill for breadflour but that was ages ago now. Other than that I use tesco/lidl. I do cheat, I use a mix of breadflour and plain or sometimes just plain if I run out (not that I have for a while, I stocked up just before it went up in price)
HHC I did more, strange, basically was on a roll, oh I got dressed properly too, this mornings dog duties were done with a coat over my nightshirt and my lounging about joggers. Amazing I said to DP that if his clothes weren't in the basket they wouldn't get washed and he filled the basket! Washer, Dishwasher all on, washer loads now on airers, kitchen tidied, recycling sorted (then I remembered it's next week for collection but done now anyway)
It is VERY dark out there already, was going to put the bin out ready for tomorrow but DPs friends car is on the drive, yes I did think 'whos parked on my drive' when I got up and it was there, usually a different car every time so it's confusing. If I don't block my drive with it it will block next doors so it can wait. Next door will be relieved we aren't moving as he calls landlady 'the messy woman' said she left stuff outside all the time etc which got on his nerves.
Going to do bank account stuff now then find something to feed the childrenOne day I might be more organised...........

Lil-me
it's not professional, but the artex from B & Q, applied with a roller, looks just fine. He hasn't done any fancy patterns, it's just textured and that covers any blemishes in the ceiling. One day (when we can afford it) we might have the ceilings skimmed, but this is fine for now.
And the rocket - I think he's finally got fed up of living in a mess and realised if he puts a bit of effort in, we can get it done. He's away for the next two weekends (Cadets then D of E stuff - he's Gwent ACF Liaison) so he's working so I don't make a fuss! Just remembered I must get him to get the deccies down one evening as well!
Off to start dinner (Tarte au Flette) then while it's cooking we can start moving stuff downstairs.DMP mutual support thread No: 433 - Mortgage - £54,556, Credit cards - £4012, Unsecured loan - £3,376, Other - £419
