Goodness where had the day gone, and so many posts to catch up on!
I seem to have spent the whole day feeding the Wm and TD, folding clothes and making jam. Why do I decide to make jam thinking it will be a quick thing to do and then it takes me all day. Still I now have 12 jars of Apricot jam which is my favourite - just remind me not to mush the fruit up in the liquidizer as it doesnt make a good texture.
Right must go do veggies for dinner which hopefully we'll be munching in bout 1/2 hr one I've cleaered it of washing.

Funnily enough I was just thinking the same thing today :rotfl: I'm going to try and use up stuff in the cupboards and freezer and then put an Asda order in for just before Christmas as my next lot of housing benefit is due 22nd December
I've made a start tonight by using up some cooked pork I had frozen, and some peas... oh and some crumble mix :rotfl::rotfl: I really need to update my inventory
Best go dish up. My MACAW for next week is already decided on - keep up with the flying! (So I can sort out my Christmas decs next Sat while Ex has DD instead of having her on the Sunday)

I haven't really managed any of the list, but I have cleared one more hotspot in my front room and I can now see a difference :T Going to look at a new vacuum cleaner this week as I'm fed up with mine - it's not powerful enough and doesn't seem to clean very well. Dad has a great one, so will see if I can get one the same. Have deleted all the vacuuming tasks and will do it all when have bought new one!

Lil_me – good news for you but I agree with kazw & PF, save your money don’t spend it on there, a lick of paint at the most. Deposits are a nightmare, ours was nearly 2k all in.
Julie – may have missed something, didn’t know DH wasn’t speaking to you. Men drive me mad when they go into their cave like that
Soappie – unless you’ve put on several stone since I last saw you I don’t think you’ve any weight worries!
Dusty – was just wondering how you were!
Jjef- congratsmy sister has just announced she’s 12 weeks pregnant so I’m happy I’m going to be an auntie again
Lots of flying has been done in this house today, DH has been a star. The study’s perfect, lounge floor has been done and I’ve done the bedroom and kitchen. More floors to be washed but we’ve done good. It’s never that bad as we’re both clean and tidy and I keep on top of it but it’s just all those unseen bits and the bits I can’t reach that need an extra going over.
Re budgeting, we’re on ok salaries but we save a lot – Dh is in charge of the money and works out what we’re likely to spend each month when we get paid then hives away the rest in our ISAs. I am careful with food spending (meal plan and do grocery challenge) and we don’t go out much really. Happy with that though! When I was on my own on a much worse salary I used to just get cash out each week on a Friday and make it last til the next – worked really well and I’m a reformed shopaholic!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Thanks dusty and PF - it is empty and I DID know it should be filled with something - see brain not in gear again - yes it takes less elec to run when filled!! DOH!!!!
will sort that after tea!!!
lil_me if the VAT changes it usually takes immediate effect so might be worth waiting to see?
toots xxPeace will be mine

Kazw - glad you've ,managed to eat a full dinner
Dusty - glad you liked the chicken soup recipe. I've never put pearl barley in mine so I can't really advise.. glad DS's toe's not broken. And thanks for posting the recipe for the others
Lil-me - the chicken soup - you don't need to add celery if you don't want to - it's a very loose recipe, really, just a glorified fridge bottom soup! Though I will deliberately buy swede and turnip and add a bit of them chopped into smallish chunks - it adds a slightly different dimension. It stretches further if you add the tin of tomatoes.
Well I've had a good afternoon. DD came over and we had a turn of the cricket pitch with the dog. I felt better for that - I think the arctic air whistling round my head helped clear the nasal passages a bit! I've now decided that half my problem is lack of food over the last three days so I have a full on roast cooking in the oven. It'll be ready in about 45 minutes. Even if I only eat half of what I normally eat, it can only do me good at this stage of my recovery.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

I never put celery in any of my soups...I only like it with peanut butter
Curry recipes, I use 'Curry Secret' which is great, however if you search on here most of the recipes have been posted on here from it by Curry Queen so search for her posts.
Soappie, be careful, maybe eat in 2 smaller sittings because I know from experience after not eating a large meal can make you feel poorly again. Thanks for the recipe xtras, I usually have plenty of chicken left off a roast as DP will only eat breast meat.
rach yes adding it all in the estate agents got £2140 off me which included their massive fees! I sometimes wish my partner had more to do with the household bills etc but we have tried it, he's useless, can't even manage his own bit properly.
Dusty I put pearl barley in anything possible because I love it
Yes - try to keep freezers full even if it's tubs of frozen water, costs less to keep cool a full one than an empty one. It also helps reduce anxieties of an empty space in my case
PF thanks, I just bought a sack of spuds so might do something similar............wonder if it'll work with the mozarella I just found.........3 chunks of in the freezer.
Kids are having chicken strips grilled, potato wedges and sweetcorn with fruit for desertOne day I might be more organised...........
