Evening everyone
Not been around much today as we have been to my mate's to take a b'day pressie and my BF and her man have called in on their way back from hols ( have been to India). Miss A has done her homework, W still has to do his but it is not due in until Tues. Recycling is out for collection, kids fed and jacket spuds in the oven for me. Will have with cottage cheese
Can't believe the thread is over 100 pages :eek: I knew we were a chatty lot but even so!!!!!

Julie - hugs, I can't stand the not speaking thing, I'm useless and just get madder and madder with DH and make it worse! I'm learning though. I hope you resolve it he snaps out of it soon
kazw - it really does make a difference.
I used to waste a lot of money buying 'stuff', clothes, cds, dvds etc, esp when i started my last job as i moved severla hundred miles, didn't have many friends down there, lived alone and had a day off in the week. I just used to go out and shop! Then I gave up shopping for lent one year (must be about 5 years ago now) and it literally changed my life. I rarely buy anything now and if i do i think about it first and don't feel guilty! I treat myself to a coffee on the way to work every now and then if i fancy one but otherwise I'm even struggling to think what I want for Christmas!
we're going to the pub later (i know i said we rarely go out, but it's true!) though not til 9pm. Haven't seen DH's mate for weeks as we've been staying in with DH studying. Then tomorrow night we're going to the opera (Elektra if anyone knows it), cheap seats though, only a tenner each (about what it costs for the cinema in london!)Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Julie - so sorry for you in that situation. Hugs, hun. It's true what they say - that men are just little boys in grown up clothes. I hope he gets a grip soon!
Lil_me, Menolly - it was delicious. I just did some mixed veg with it, but nice with salad too. I've just edited previous post to say I add garlic with the onion. I always have some strong grated cheddar in my freezer and just use that, but I would imagine it would be just as nice with mozarella. I only use the Sainsburys basic white or red wine for cooking and any bacon at all (offcuts, smoked or unsmoked) whatever you prefer. It's inexpensive, but tastes really good and when we've been as busy as we all have today, it's an easy meal. I stuck it in the oven while DH brought stuff downstairs for me to start restacking the shelves.
Soappie - thank you for the chicken soup recipe
Here's another that goes down well. DS's GF loves them (but her mother, the one who doesn't work, buys them ready made!)
Glamorgan Sausages
Ingredients
* 5 ounces fresh white breadcrumbs
* 1 small onion, finely chopped
* 3 ounces grated cheese
* salt or salt substitute
* pepper
* 1 pinch dry mustard
* 1 whole egg
* 1 egg yolk
* flour (to coat)
* crispy breadcrumbs (to coat)
Directions
1) Mix breadcrumbs and cheese, finely chopped onion and seasoning.
2) Beat together 1 egg and 1 egg yolk and use to bind mixture.
3) Make into 12 even sized sausage shapes and roll in flour.
4) Coat in beaten egg white and flour.
5) Coat in crispy breadcrumbs.
6) Fry in hot fat or oil.
7) Serve with red peppers and a fresh green salad
I just use any Cheddar, although strictly speaking it should be a Welsh Cheese. I don't use the mustard as GF does not like it, and I always have a box of crips breadcrumbs in the freezer too.DMP mutual support thread No: 433 - Mortgage - £54,556, Credit cards - £4012, Unsecured loan - £3,376, Other - £419

Forgot to say, Superdrug parcel 1 (of 3) has arrived, 2 & £ showing despatched. Amazon order arrived, Ebay item arrived. Almost upto date with all deliveries!!!
Might have to start wrapping next week although I need to decide where to store them all when wrapped. I tend to put them in bags/boxes depending on their final destination so it is easier come distribution time.Official Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -
dusty - i'll bag the clarins one if no one else does! I'm out of some bits and have purposely not been buying until an offer's on!
AnW - the thread is getting long, I think mainy due to so many people being on it now! I have given up trying to catch up in the week, but I love you all and just pop in and out when I can!
Was thinking today of people we've not heard from in a while:
solway, mudbath, aimee, and there must be more but my mind's gone blank!
Froddy asked last week about a southern meet. I'm up for before of after xmas though I'm tied up most weekends in Jan. Just keep em posted and I'm happy to help organise Froddy.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -

Well me being the organised person I am have just printed out a study calender for next year :rotfl::rotfl: I plan on writing in when all my assignments are due, birthdays etc then hopefully I should be able to juggle my study hours around a little easier.
Off to fill it in in pen.
DD has just written her letter to Santa so the Christmas Fairy will be collecting that tonight(And emailing a copy to ex
). She's watching the end of miracle on 34th street
then she's off to bed so I can get on with things.

Hi
Dnt want to talk too much as not having a good time at the moment, hence the weird signature. Bloody gas has gone out and the meter card is faulty, rang the out of hours thing and they cnt help us. Poor DD can not have a bath tonigh and we have no heating we are all huddled in the room at the moment but DD needs to go to bed soon she has school in the morning, dout she will sleep its chilly upstairs.
Well sat here drinking Echinacea Plus, its by Dr Stuart's and is some sort of herbal tea. I have heard that Echinacea is good to help shift colds and as my glands are up I need it. I go into hospital on the 3rd so this cold better !!!! its butt by then.
Any ways checking out for the night so will chat hopefully 2moz if I get time.
This is my plan of action for next week:
Organise the room ready for Xmas decorations coming out and rest up and de stress.:wave: Wins in 09 = A vodka cocktail kit thing lol, £150 Amazon voucher.0 -
lil me, I'm loving mince in curries at moment, if that helps.
Have sorted out the apples I stewed yesterday into 2 containers so have the 'bases' for 4 apple crumbles and/or Eve's Puddings in the freezer now. DD has been introduced to Eve's pudding and has declared it her favourite. She had some today though as she went to mum's while we were at football (away game) so the Victoria Sponge mum was making was miraculously transformed into Eve's pudding due to timing of our phone call... made a veggie chilli and two cottage pies too so that's my tea tomorrow (chilli) and the kids (cott pie) sorted with the bonus of one for the freezer. Dried my last washload and ironed so that's all been done.
Went to watch DS and the team play football - in a bitterly cold wind so despite gloves, hiking boots, scarf hat and layers stillending up perishing cold. Mums for tea though so I warmed up eventually.
Thrilled to report his team won 4-2 coming back from 2 - 0 at one stage and he scored 2... So 3 points for them and hopefully a better position in their league. They are looking a better team too, and the fitness training is clearly paying off as they look - well - more fit! Must source some long johns to wear under trousers...
Must get on with stuff now.
See you later.
Juliejim Maybe somethings bugging him and he's trying to get it straight in his head first? Hope it's sorted soon. (((hugs)))Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
