jjef congratulations!!!!! To all of you, welcome to the world little Ruby
soappie pleased to hear you are feeling better
pigpen thanks for the early hours hugs, my laptop went 'off' and I couldn't reply. You know how something helps when it's stopped is what I always say with meds etc

Mixed feelings but some good news - Spoke to LL so far doesn't want to move back into this house, PHEW! Looking for one elsewhere and staying with relatives at first. My worry now is if her plans don't work and she can't get a mortgage to buy somewhere else etc and it comes down to need. She's really nice honestly, I knew she wouldn't have deliberately kept us in the dark, but I know sometimes things come down to need. I am nervous about the security of our tenancy. Awful feeling especially with 2 boys who don't like that sort of change. I still might have a look at the bungalow incase she changes her mind. I would only leave here now if we have to. I don't want to because the boys like it even if it's cold, the garage and conservatory leak etc etc the boys are happy and that is the most important thing in the world to me, just the worry of maybe having to move I must have cried myself to sleep last night. I can now rebook the guy I had planned to come and price the landing/hall/stairs carpet I think, so unsure on that bit, might just get it cleaned again and see if it comes up better (wasn't great when we moved in, it's cream and looks bad as the walls are white so might change the walls) I am keeping my savings handy just incase, I double checked last night and there is £1800 there squirreled away seperate to the xmas money, I will keep adding to it when I can aswell. It's not to be touched apart from if we need to move and I have been good so far. At least I know there are many other properties, most are a lot cheaper too. With the dogs thing my vets don't really know them but at home, the neighbour right next door didn't know I had dogs for the first 4/5 months we lived here because they are no bother, I don't walk past his house on the evening walks so he haddn't seen them, haddn't heard them and never noticed a 'smell' he said so can only assume he expected me not to have cleaned up after them.

Right enough of that, thank you all so much for being there for me. I am hoping this comes to nothing but I know I have you all here for emotional support and that means so much to me. I am at present trying not to dwell on the bad bits, just live for the moment.........well that's the theory. Just keeping my fingers crossed her plans work out for her, not just for our sake but because she's lovely aswell and we can stay here.

Right, housework, well I spent about an hour on the phone to LL, we actually end up just chatting away, she's very easy to just chat with. Did empty the DW at the same time, filled the WM, swept the kitchen floor, but not much else. Oh there has been snow here, it's nearly all melted now but it has been white.

Need to pull myself out of my little slump and get this lot done TODAY

    Vacuum through downstairs
Complie email of links and advice for landlady about renting out another property, seems wrong in a way doesn't it lol
Washing - 3 loads wash, 4 to get dry, 4 to put away (possible i***)
    Clear kitchen
Make some bread - I need to use that flour up and stop buying it!
    Make a cake/some small cakes
Redo FC rota, because on of our mods is santa and a bit busy :rotfl:
    Clear kitchen again
Make boys dinner (think DP is getting me a takeaway to keep me quiet about him being away again)
One day I might be more organised...........

Thanks! She's better now, just thankful she doesn't have a hole in her lip or lost a tooth. She's going to look a bit battered though :o

Just trying to sort out some small clothes into vacuum bags, but at £7 for 2 smallish bags I think it might end up expensive! Although saying that I could get a box a month Or thinking that maybe one big bag which you should be able to fit a king sized duvet in for £12 might be better.

DH has finished the study and I've had a good go at the kitchen (which was really ok except for those extra bits that always get left!). Trying to copy wedding dvd for in laws but it's taking forever. Think there might be a problem with the destination disk, oh well, need to go to in laws for lunch so it'll have to wait. DH is mad at me cos apparently I should've done it earlier. hey ho.

  • Thanks Toots It's going to be a strange four years that's for sure! However losing weight, without trying, is always something that's a plus for me!

Right, I completely forgot to do the BM!!! But I have made Weetabix brownies, loads of school lunch sandwiches and pizza.

We've bathed the dog     He was the best behaved he's been since we've had him, and even jumped into the bath himself!! (even though he was trembling) aaahhhh. I think he's maybe realised that we're not going to hurt him.

Anyway, I'm going to have a shower now, and then my friend and her little girl are coming over for coffee.... hmmmm, maybe not coffee, tea's cheaper! I'm on one heck of a budget now!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

rach pass him the DVD and let him do it :p Enjoy your lunch, wish I had someone to cook me Sunday lunch, I do miss that from living at home
Craftyscholar I will admit I look at least once per month out of me being constantly worried about it, I like to keep up to date with what is available. That is why I know some properties we looked at over a year ago are still empty, likely because of fussy criteria about pets etc, lettings agents who expect too much in the way of fees, references, guarantors, credit checks etc which is a hassle we had.

ashia, I used to be useless at saving but now this is what I do

Every month I take out £100 and put it in there before I even start with the bills etc. I did it as a DD to a savings account at first but my paranoia with banks I now do it as cash to the safe. That's the house move fund, I need another say £700 ish before I will be happy then I will just put it away.

Every month I put £200 in a bag in the safe for car repairs, tax, insurance, caravan insurance, caravan parts etc etc that is used as and when needed for stuff, I have tax/insurance at different times of the year so evens itself out.

£2 coins go in a SEALED tin, this one I was still dipping into when open, so had to get a sealed one. That I save twice a year usually, one for 6 months after xmas for holidays and one for 6 months for xmas, this year I only managed the one tin all year, was a bigger tin than last years but of course was a lot in it.

Everything else is budgeted down to the £2 for swimming and £2.50 for DS2s Beavers each week. I have my grocery budget which I try to stick to or I would need to dip into savings to get the extra which I don't want to do. I use a spreadsheet to work out what the outgoings are and what is left from the budget. The spreadsheets, I do use a few but one is so basic I can modify it to be a xmas present one etc just switching the names around.
One day I might be more organised...........
